jai: what the hell is this u call this a bus , isse bus kehte hain ismein where does one sit ...( as bani pointed to the the very end of the bus where there were 2 seats so they both grabbed those)
jai: thnx bani as he fidgeted in his seat
by the time the bus moved it was loaded with people with no space to breath , bani looked at jai time n again and cud make out that he was not liking this one bit ..bani just squeezed his hand to get his attention .. he was warm
bani: 3/4 ghante ki to baat hai....u dont have to sit in it forever and u have fever so first thing we buy medicines
jai(just smiled ):yes for me and for u as well ,its all abt habit bani , aadat nahin hain aise travel karne ki..
bus guy: tourist? where?
jai(nodded in the affirmative ): yaounde
bus guy: 5
jai searched his wallet he only had indian rupees n pounds n his credit cards... no local currency
jai; only pounds as he handed him a quid
the bus guy took it , jai was quite surprised but cudnt care much as he took the 2 tickets..and looked at bani who had dosed of ... jai cudnt help but smile at her, poor girl what an ordeal for her .. .as he continued to look at her angelic face , soft n beautiful v different frm the girls of today v different as he kept his head on bani's shoulder and decided to sleep , wow this is quite comfortable he thought...
jai was woken up up by the bus guy 's yelling and tapping his shoulders
bus guy: get off ...last stop
jai : oops sorry (as he woke up bani and asked her to make a move , which she did)
Once on the street jai looked arnd for a cab and found one wo that kid was good he said to himself as he went to the cab driver and asked him if he cud drive them down to yaounde to which the driver agreed .
jai: bani . chalo he's ready to take us to yaounde
bani walked up to him n said what abt the money
jai: hey man how much to yaounde , i dont have local cash
driver ; u tourist ?( jai n bani nodded in the affirmative) ok then pay me in yr currency the money....
jai; phew , thnk u ( as he both he n bani sat in the car), how much time to city and which is the best hotel there...
driver: well abt 45 mins , hotel let me c sir ,how abt the hilton thats very good
jai: ok take us to that one,
jai: actually pehle kuch kapdon ke liye shop karte hain we both need a change first up ,once i get the room i dont think i can come out again ...
bani; ya , lets shop first ...medicines
jai asked the driver to take them first to a market where they cud find clothes n medicines ....
once at the local market jai n bani first went to a local pharmacy to get medicines actually bani dragged jai to the pharmacy ......
jai ; fine ab can we buy clothes....
bani nodded in a affirmative as they went inside a store.....bani moved to the ladies section and quickly piked up a few necessities , a pj and t to sleep in and a couple of skirts n tops as a change......she walked up to where jai he had still not selected ne thing
bani: jai , maine to samaan le liya , aapne ....
jai: there is nothing of my taste here , night suit ka to hogayaa but
bani: kahin aur dekhen , waise shirts to yahaan hain( as she started to scan the shirts kept there) , floral prints well thats really africa for u brite n floral
jai:no way bani dont even think abt it , actually i wear suits and prefer plain shirts.....usually white
bani; jai rite now nothing usual so i am sure jai ull look equally dashing if u wear this shirt with a black trouser and kal we'll go someplace else n buy yr white shirt and suits...
jai just smiled and took it...even masi cudnt get him to wear something so bright n colorful n floral and here he had just given in to her amazing he thought circumstances.....what all they make u do ...as he went to pay for the shopping....
So jai n bani finally reached the hotel and jai asks the guy at the reception desk for two rooms
bani: jai , i want a room rite next to yrs...
jai: ya sure...(not that he was thinking otherwise)
so jai asked the guy if they cud the 2 rooms, the guy at the reception said to jai that there is very limited availability as a part of the hotel is closed for renovation so unfortunately they dont have 2 free rooms that r next to each other at the moment but he will see what he can do and may be by evening he can get them the room next to the one he was giving jai....
jai: (looking at bani) : sounds ok fine with u
bani: ya
jai (to reception desk fellow) : the room is big or
guy: pretty big sir , one of our best ones sir. even the view frm the balcony is gr8...
jai: thanx as he completed the formalities and took the key...

once jai and bani entered the queen executive room bani kept the shopping bags and dashed to the where the fone was kept ...
bani; whats code u will use to dial india jai, (as she looked at jai)
jai; same that u use frm uk its the same here or newhere
bani:ok thnx
as she dialled her home number , jai's eyes were on her and after a while he saw the color n expression of her face change as she kept the receiver , jai rushed to her
jai: bani kya hua
bani: koi nahin utha raha jai, nobody is piking up the fone as tears now rained frm her eyes and she buried her face in jai's broad chest and clutched his shirt ever so tightly and all jai cud here between her sobs is mumma papa n jai rest what she said made no sense to him, jai was feeling numb himself n didnt no what to say to her , as he stroked one of her arms affectionately n said' bani , maybe yr parents are out somewhere , airline ne bulaya ho sakta hai, consulate ne bulaya ho , u never no bani ,its not very late in india aur its mumbai baarish se fone bhi to kharaab ho sakta hai.....' a teary eyed bani looked up to jai....
jai: cell fone number hai koi...
bani: haan dad ka hai
jai: try karo wo
bani dialled the cell number , bani: its saying not reachable...as tears came back again
jai: dekho rone se kya hoga , baat to nahin kar paogi , i'll call my home abhi n have someone sent to yr place ok n find out so now be a good girl n stop crying and give me a nice sweet smile ..as jai wiped the tears with his thumb ever so gently and bani oblidged with a half smile
jai got down to calling home .......

Adi's fone started to ring he didnt recognise the number flashing but piked up ...
adi: helo
jai: helo, adi its me jai
adi: really its u jai dont tell me this is some kind of rude joke whoever u r is playing on me
jai: o adi, stop it why wud i joke....is everyone ok masi theek hain
adi: oh my god give me 2 mins so that this can sink u dont now how the last few days have gone believe me we were broken completely ...ok wait tell me where r u and when r u comin back ok wait let me get u to talk to massi she has hardly eaten wait hold on ok u give me yr number ill call u back .....
jai : likho ( and he gave him the number )
jai kept the fone down and looked at bani she was looking out of the window , he cud see the tears ,he walked upto her turned her arnd and wiped her tears ( it was hurting him sumwhere to see her like this , so he was sensitive he had forgotten that over the years cos nothing cud move the stone hearted jai walia n here her each tear was hurting him like nething wow so much for emotional attachment he thought) he was abt to say sumthing when the fone rang jai moved to pik it up but his one hand was still holding on to banis hand tightly as she to moved towards the fone.....
jai: helo
masi: jai beta tu theek hai ( crying)
jai: ab kyon ro rahe ho masi,now ab to main theek hoon .......aap ne socha bhi kaise bina apke haath apni shaadi karwaye main jaa sakta hoon....ab dhoondhne lago ladki (he saw bani smile at that , jai thought chalo smile to kiya ....as he kept holding her hand)
masi:accha mazak chodo, beta wpas kab aa rahe ho
jai;kal consulate jaoonga n then pataa chalegaa but asap, ab aap jaake dinner ko....
masi;apna dhyaan rakhna bye
jai:bye masi , adi ko fone dena
adi:ya bol jai
jai;look there is this girl with me bani,she was also on that flite , now she called up her home and no one is piking up n she 's all worried for her parents , her dads cell is also unreachable so can u have some sent immediately to find out and if they happen to meet her parents just give this number and my cell will also be working in a while ...ya she stays in kalina (jai looked at bani n asked her to tell her address which bani did n jai repeated it to adi)
adi: consider it done and ill call u once i have some info .....(adi was quite amazed for jai's concern for some stranger jai is certainly not among the ones who care for people)
jai; how much as work suffered
adi: relax yaar main to gayaa nahin 2 din se , ab tom ill go n c and give u n update baaki tum aake dekh lena but ill clear the air abt u and fir ull start getting yr calls....
jai;ok par do this first , just chek on her parents
adi:yes sir ... take care ,well be in touch...byeee
jai :haan kal jigyasa se baat karoonga woh hai kahan ....
adi; ab jaake khaana khaane baithe hain masi aur uska to bura haal thaa
jai; i can imagine yaar accha bye
adi; bye
once the fone was over jai turned to bani (had not released her hand as yet)
jai;so bani who's using the loo first to freshen up
bani:aap , order dinner as well cos apko fever hai abhi bhi so eat n have yr medicine itne der fever ko untreated chod dena isnt rite
jai did as told (what made him do so he never new , but the fact that she was more concerned abt his fever than her foot amazed him)

bani was havin a shower when the fone rang jai piked it up it was frm the hotel reception and the guy said the room next door is ready and he can come n collect the key ,jai wondered what to do he didnt feel like letting her be alone in the frame of mind she was but what wud she think of him when he wud tell her that he said no for the separate room ....he kept thinking then took a decision n called the front desk nd said no for the separate room ...............
sorry for the mistakes ,n boredome (writing this has becum a ritual of sorts)
