i took my son to the fair today and saw a approximately 7 month pregnant woman smoking one cigarette after another.......is this okay?

according to the pro-choice arguements, until the baby is born it is a part of the mother's body and the mother has a right to do what she wants with her body.

so is it okay for her to drink and smoke during pregnancy knowing very well that she is causing harm to the baby and will hinder its development not only in the womb but also possibly during its entire lifetime. it is her body after all right?

Smoking and Drinking during ordinary days is only 🤢🤢🤢 and during pregnancy is 🤢🤢🤢 and 😡😡😡 thing and if something happens they need to repent ! I don't think an ordinary mother will do all these!

Smoking and drinking are injurious to self and neighbours! A responsible mother will never do any act which will cause any harm to her child!

I am pro-choice too, and the basis for my being pro-choice is that I'd rather see a child not being born at all, than being unwanted and uncared for after being born. If I could have things my way, I'd never allow anyone to give birth unless they're 110% sure that they want the kid and are willing to care for it (a tad bit idealistic, i know). So having said that then, I dont think it's okay at all for pregnant mothers to smoke and drink or put their baby at risk in any other way during the pregnancy or even thereafter. If you're going to be bringing another life into this world, you'd damn well better be ready to care for it, both when it's in the womb and all the way until it is able to take care of itself. I would much rather the woman abort her kid than do a haphazard job rearing the kid.

PS. This is not intended to be disrespectful toward people who are pro-life....I'm just putting my own pov out there.

Smoking and drinking is bad any time. If an adult is addicted and cannot take care of herself, has no right to be pregnant and ruin the life of an infant. Same goes for the man too. They should not raise kids if they cannot stop themself from smoking atleast infront of the pregnant lady or any kids.

Why Myth, I thought you wanted mQT to entertain you with alcoholic beverages when you visit her place.😲 I even heard you crying for alcohol when at first mQT refused to serve you that 'injurious' thing.😉😃
Mythili - I'll show her some real good time in the city, take her to exporatorium and museum and drive her along the PCH-1 . I think we'll have a nice and quiet time enjoying nature and talking.
I am sure after a bunch of philosophical conversation, we'll get down to business and talk about PB, abhi, Ram kapoor and others.. That will be fun too. Dinner will be quiet and at home
Haah!! Thankyou !!!
BTW I'm not Philosophical 😆 !!!
I thought you will offer me some wine!! I did'nt taste any beverage till now!! You too did'nt give that chance 😭 😆
Thanks foryour answers!!! 😊

I will be back with another set of questions!!
dabulls i thought you knew about it , there are many who do it who also do substance abuse, and the result is appalling. such women are either of their mind or lack support, there is something bad about their attitude too. 😕

The two situations cannot really be compared. When a woman is terminating her pregnancy she is taking a personal decision which doesn't affect or involve anyone else except herself (the aborted foetus cannot be considered as a separate entity or living being). But when an expecting mother does something irresponsible which might affect the child when it's born then it's entirely different issue as the child will have to pay throughout his/her life for something s/he was not responsible.

Raunaqwa I knew about it. As smoking cigarettes, drinking or substance abuse is bad anyways on top of that doing it while pragancy or after child birth is plain old stupidity. How can one be such a careless parent??? I agree totally bad abt the attitude.

2nd hand smoke is more harmful too people than smoking it them selves. I am just shcoked at these type of people who are totally careless.

i agree with you. actually imo its not even stupidity, i think its beyond stupidity, such type of people need immediate consultations or need to go through some kind of program to quit it becoz any women in right mind be it from any class of family, would never jeopardize her own kid in the womb, but they are not willing to get support from professionals. such type of women have lost senses and i feel pity on the kids who have be their kids

i didnt know that second hand smoking is more harmful i knew it would be harmful but more harmful? thats new to me and thats appalling, thanks for the info
