Part : 3

A new morning. The weather was mild with cold breeze blowing. It was 7 and nearly the whole lot in ship were awake and having fun time. Some playing with each other, some swimming, some eating, some were having romantic time. No one bothered to have a look what the other did, everyone did what they wanted to. Someone banged the door and Ram woke up. He looked around the room and let his mind register exactly where he was. He got down from his bed. He was in his white kurta, he put his slippers and left to the door. Kevin stood there with coffee "good morning sir" he wished Ram. "Good morning Kevin" Ram wished him back without looking at him, his eyes fixed on the door opposite to him. "Mam has gone to the gym sir" Kevin informed him. Ram gave Kevin a stare "Did I ask you that?" Ram asked angrily. "But you were searching for her sir. I am here to help you" Kevin replied politely. "oh..! very intelligent" Ram sighed. "Wait a minute, don't tell me you were trailing her on moms orders" Ram asked surprised. "No sir, I saw mam when I was bringing you coffee" Kevin replied. "Thanks" Ram told him and opened the door wide so Kevin could come in. Kevin placed the coffee and left. Ram hurriedly freshened up and finished his tea. He wore a branded black t-shirt and white shorts, with his shoes and left to the gym. He walked fast quiet not sure about the location of the gym "Sir the gym is this way" Kevin called him from behind. "Grrr this man" Ram thanked him and left.

The gym was very big, fully furnished with all the latest equipments. It was not so crowded. It wasn't difficult for him to find her, rather he only searched for her. She was in a black workout fitting, her hair tied in a pony, her iPod placed in the belt around her hip as she ran on the treadmill. He gazed at her for some time and walked towards her "Good morning" he called out. She looked at him blankly as she couldn't hear him through the music she was listening. She got down and came up to him "Hi Ram" she greeted. "Priya just help me na. I am new to these stuffs" he asked her. She smiled
"then why do you wanna try now?" she asked. "Yaar all are busy in the morning dong stuffs. I always like workout, but haven't had time so decided to do these 3 months" he told her. She nodded and told him to try the stationary bike. "Just tell me once how to do?" he asked innocently. She led him to the bike and told t him to sit there. As she demonstrated Ram's eyes trailed along her beautiful face, she was sweating yet she looked angelic. He pulled a towel from his pocket and gently lowered it down to her face to wipe the beads of sweat in her temple. She was little stunned by his sudden action and looked at him, who was pondering his eyes over here. The stood for seconds forgetting what was happening. There was noise of someone closing the door and Priya moved back and gave Ram a smile "you can do it now" she asked. He nodded "Thanks" "Ram no sorry, thank you in friendship" she said and made her way to the treadmill. After half an hour both left from gym. "So Priya what's next" he asked enthusiastically. "Hmmm..!! Ram I am going to swim" she told him. "Oh I can't swim. Ok then I will fresh up myself. You take a swim and then we can hang for breakfast" he suggested. "ya that sounds good. See you then" without turning back she left in the direction of the pool. Ram looked at her retreating figure "ram in gym" he laughed to himself and left.

Ram took a leisurely shower. His body ached; he was never used to exercise at all. He wore a green shirt and black Bermuda and left for breakfast. He stood outside her room thinking whether to call her or not. His phone rang. It was his mom. "ha ma" he took the call and moved to the deck. "Ram how you are?" his mom's came from the other side. "Ya I am good. How's you and your health?" he enquired. "All fine son. So seems like you went for workout today" his mom teased. Ram closed his eyes, thinking of the numerous times his mom told him to go to gym. "Ha ma was free. So I thought to visit the gym" he said scratching his temple. "areey come-on son don't lie to me. Where's my daughter-in-law?" his mom asked. "Ma please she is a friend" he told her. "Ok tell me your friends name now?" "Priya" he whispered. He rested his back on the railings and continued talking. "Ma it's nothing like what you think. I just enjoy her company and..." he stretched. "And what's it?" his mom asked. "And I feel very happy when I am with her, and I feel happy when I see her happy" he said. "Son you're in love" ma told. "Ma please you know about me na. I can never fall in love. It's not my cup." He told her quietly. "ok then keep her happy if you feel happy in it" his mom advised. "She is happy by herself" he replied. "Son I don't know how dumb you can be. Get her a gift or something. Show her that she is special to you. You know how many gifts you papa gave me to make me happy" his mom said. "Oh.. Gift..!! Okay.. But what sought of gift" he asked. "Ram your heart will tell you what gift. You don't need my guidance" his mom replied. "Mom please don't talk like a love guru now. I have no feeling for her. I just like her. I don't get mesmerized by her beauty or anything like that. I just enjoy her company and its pure friendship ok. Don't confuse me" he said. "Oh you have had girl friends before, but you haven't talked about them to me at all. This one is different Ram, time will show you" his mom said. There was a silence. "Ok ma any idea other than the gift, coz I can get a gift only when the ship lands in the first place" he said. "Ahem. more than gifts girls like romantic things, get her for a romantic dinner, in a romantic place, romantic sequence" "Ma please, I will go with the gift thing" he cut her in. He was able to hear his mom laugh "MA anything funny?" he asked. "ya I have never seen my child like this before, now I am happy" she said. "Please ma" he said smilingly. He saw Priya coming in a dark blue top and black trousers, her hair was wet hanging in one side she looked fresh. He gazed at her absent minded "Son you there?" his mother's voice echoed. "Ma will call you later, going to have breakfast" he said and cut the call.

"Ram shall we leave?" she asked as she walked up to him. "Yeah sure I am ravenous" he said caressing his tummy. "Ya you must be after workout. Are your legs ok? I mean you said that you are working out after long time" she asked concerned. "Thanks for the concern mam. Ya it hurt but now its totally fine" he replied. He felt happy that she cared about him. The deck was nearly full, people having fun and children running here and there. They made their way to the dining hall and filled their plated. Priya took cornflakes and Ram some toast and fried eggs. "So Priya seems like your already enjoying. Gym then swimming" he winked. "Not exactly it's my routine. I do these always" she said. "But your right I am enjoying with my new friend, who never lets me get bored" she said slowly. He blushed looking down "Thanks yaar and same here" he said. They finished their food and came to the deck. "Aunty...!!" small Ram came running towards Priya who extended her arms for him "Hi Ram.!! You looking great champ" she said. "Aunty Can we play please" he asked. Priya looked at Ram who was looking at them. "Yeah tell me what should we play champ" she asked. "Snake and ladders" he asked. Priya bit her lips. "Hmmm.!! Ok as you wish. Just take it and come I will wait her" she told him and he ran. "so you're going to play" Ram asked. She nodded "no other plans" she said. He smiled "And your plans" she asked Ram. "To be with you" he replied. Realizing what he said "I mean, to join you both in game, can I?" he asked. "Ya of course" she replied.

Priya looked at Ram as he walked beside her. "What is he doing to me?" she asked herself. The time he wept her sweat of her heart was missing several beats. She felt standing lifelong with him nearby her. The way he looked at her, his eyes made her nervous. As she was lost in her chain of thoughts, small Ram came with the games. The three sat to play around a table. They had a great time. Ram keenly noted how Priya talked to the boy with so much love. "If she show so much love to him, then how much would her son be loved?" he thought. Ram and Priya had to give up in order making the small boy win. As the game was over Ram left to get juice for them. He ordered the juice and stood looking at the boy and her. He was in her lap now, they were playing something with hands. He felt weird. He felt he wanted her to own his kid, love him the same way. "Ram your mad" he told himself. He took the juice and left there.

The rest of the day passed quickly. Ram wanted a nap in the noon. He woke up in the eve and searched for her. Kevin informed she was in garden so he left there. The garden was a glass chamber, with many flowers and plants. It looked so peaceful. No one was there, he saw her sitting in a chair in the far end and writing something. She was buried in her book. "Hi Priya" he called out. She looked at him and waved him to join she closed the book as he reached her. "Hi" she said. He took the chair opposite to her. "Coffee" she asked. He nodded. "What were you writing?" he asked. "yeah. I have the habit of writing dairies" she smiled. "Oh which means you would have written about me today" he asked excitedly. "Ya a lot" she replied. "I wish I was there on every page" he said. She looked at him as he smiled "I wish the same" she replied. He laughed a little and took her hands in his. He heart beat fast. "You the sweetest friend I have ever seen "he said. "You're no less Ram" she said as they looked at each other. "Ram if you don't mind can I leave, have some important work" she excused and stood up "Priya can I have your number. Just to know where you are?" He asked. She looked at him and then gave him her number. "Ok see you" she said and left.

Priya was in sitting in the small balcony attached with her room, working in her laptop. Her phone rang. His name flashed. She smiled and took the call "Hi ram" she answered. "hi..Sorry for disturbing, just wanted to ask whether we can leave for dinner" he asked. She checked the time, it was 9. "Ha Ram sure. Just give me five minutes, why don't you come to my room, its opened" she said. "Her room. God" Ram told himself and left. Priya finished her work and copied in a pen drive and left to fresh up. The room was completely different from his. It looked lively "Is this a special suite for you" he asked. "No Ram I changed it a bit" she said coming from the washroom. "Oh it's brilliant" he complimented. "Ya I wanted to make it feel like home, 3 months is too long" she sighed. He smiled, he was in the same mental state 1 day back but now he could spent 3 centuries here. "Shall we leave?" she asked and he nodded. They left for dinner. As they walked Priya lost her balance and was about to hit the ground, his arms wrapped around her and he pulled her up. She clutched his shirt for support. She raised her head slowly and her eyes met his. His expression was unreadable. He made her stand straight "Please Priya cant you watch where you are walking" he asked. He sounded tensed. "Ram I am fine" she told. "No what if I wasn't there, you could have hurt yourself very badly" he said. "Ram please relax" she tried to calm him down. "Please Priya don't do it again, be careful, I can't imaging you getting hurt" he said and walked. She silently followed him looking at his face "He cares so much for me, why?. Is he feeling strange the way I feel or is this his normal way he behaves" her mind had thousands of questions.

They talked about their works and dined. Ram was telling to her how his mother bought him up and she is his best friend. Priya was lost in his sweet nature. She knew about The Ram Kapoor. She had read in so many places, but now she was seeing the other side of him, maybe his true side. He looked like a kid when he spoke things from heart. She felt her heart getting weaker and weaker the way he looked her, his words, and the way he cared for her. they walked in silence to their rooms and wished each other good night. Ram waited for her to leave to her room. Once she left, he went to the open are to get some air "why do I feel devoid of oxygen when I am with her? can mom be right? Am I in love? No I can't it's just friendship and even if I am in love what about her. I just like to be with her but I don't feel anything else. I just enjoy her company" he talked to himself gazing at the rough sea. His phone buzzed. The caller name read Priya. He took the call.

"Ram can you come here please, its urgent" she sounded tensed and lost. From her voice he knew clealy that she was crying. Without a second thought he rushed to her room.
