Fine interview.

What is the big deal if she does not want to work with the Khans?

Is it mandatory for people to work with them?

Honestly the Khans are getting older and are going to rule for only few more years as leading men. If actresses do not want to add to their screen age working with older stars then it is their decision.

Heroines barely have anything to do in Khan movies these days and they never get any credit for film's success either.

It's more a matter of perception..I remember reading a lot of reviews(including VI and MFC) which called it rape..

I get what you are trying to say..From a purely legal point of view, its not rape..Rape by deception refers to those instances where there is a case of mistaken identity..Where the victim assumes the perpetrator is her husband or she has been forced to think so..Here its neither of the two..She was in love with him and gave her consent without any duress or intoxication..We have loads of cases where the guy promises marriage, sleeps with the girl and then ditches her..Now can you call that rape? Even there, the girl slept with him cos she was under the impression that he'l eventually marry her..Thats deception in a way too..But its not rape..Atleast under Indian Law..I totally get what you are trying to say though..

Btw nowhere does she say her films are more memorable or better or the best in BW when compared to Khan films or other people's films. Just that she is making a conscious effort to choose roles where she has enough scope to act...and this has been true in her films so far. She's had the author backed role.

Now whether she did it well, it was too similar, how the film are turned out are completely different stories. Most actresses only have 1-2 truly memorable films anyways.

I don't see anything wrong in what she said though, in a way it's good she hasn't yet worked with the Khans because at the moment all of her films have worked in her favour as her performances have been exceptional.

That's because most people don't know the difference between the two.

And the PR people must've told them that that is the story.

It isn't rape. Since her consent was very much present at the time of the event.

Rape by deception, can be if he had promised her marriage before the sexual act/ pretended to be her husband while knowing he was not.

Here, they were already married.

Nope, not rape. Not in the IPC, technically or logically.

She is very much being callous by calling it rape.

its rape if the woman gives her consent because she belives that the man is her legally wedded husband when in reality that is not so.Doesn't the Islamic law require to convert for the marriage to be valid?and parma didn't actually convert,he lied to her that he did.So was their nikah valid?
