well the solution to mb-1 is...


The number of doors open:31.
The doors that will be open are in positions:1,4,9,16...900,961,i.e.each perfect square numbered door will be left open,since perfect squares are the only numbers with an odd number of
distinct factors.
The number of open doors, y, as a function of the number of doors, x, is
y = int(sqrt(x))
now number of perfect square roots between 1 to 1000=31
