So finally the much awaited CONSUMMATION is done! I have two opinions about it depending on how I'm viewing it. If I consider it as a stand-alone lovemaking scene, I liked it. If I link it with the story, it wasn't that divine because the love story lost appeal when Shlok was brought down in the 12th may episode. I have whined enough about that episode in this thread and here and again here and probably in a lot of other posts. So I'm not going to do it again now, but that complaint still stands. For now, I will just talk about why I liked it.

I liked the scenes leading up to it. I didn't mind the teddy/roses scene in spite of the cheese and I liked the chase between them with riddles. I didn't mind not having any dialogues between them after Shlok found Aastha on the terrace. Actually, I liked it more for the lack of dialogues in that scene. THE scene itself was very tastefully done. Not an ounce of sleaze. Their expressions were perfect. The conception and execution of the scene was near perfect.

Avinash looked damn sexy in that simple white shirt and khakis. Shrenu looked really gorgeous in that white net saree with silver motif and the red scalloped border. The silver motif that almost blends in with white looks better on her than the big contrasting red flowers on the first SR saree. Her makeup was also done properly without weird eye shadows this time. I liked this look way better than the first SR look. She looked divine.

Few minor problems I noticed:

1) When Shlok kisses aastha on her neck, we could see that he was not actually kissing. He should have moved his head a little further to make the illusion of kissing look better.

2) There was no lip lock! I'm not saying that they should really kiss onscreen but there was no pretend liplock even! Do people do it without kissing?!

😆 may be she was too conscious. But they could have created the illusion of kissing better, even without really kissing, if the director/cameraman instructed Avinash to move his lips out of camera's view. It would have been even better if Shrenu relaxed a little, but that's okay.😊 The scene was still better than most of the TV suhaagraats.

What an amazing topic yaar 😃
finally consummation is done. It was very beautiful and the love of ASHLOK could be felt by the viewers.
Avinash and Shrenu did an amazing job.
the minor problems part EXACTLY
avinash should have definitely moved his head a little closer cause it showed that he wasn't really kissing her.
and OMG No Lip lock how surprising is that
@ Do people do it without kissing?!
LOL 😆
I think there should have been a lip lock in that scene and of course like u said I don't mean like they should have really kissed but at least gave the feeling that they did.
In almost all their romance scenes Shlok kept eyeing her lips and wanting to give her a kiss badly whether it was that under the shower scene or that scene where Aastha comes out after taking a shower and falls on top of Shlok.
so now when Shlokie got the chance to he didn't do it.

it was a great episode but after the SR I'm wondering now what?
Shlok and Aastha might fight again cause of NA the freak.
but now the story will shift away and it wont' be a love/hate story anymore don't you think?

Rekha, good to see yr post again.😃
Some of the minor defects that you pointed out. The kiss, the neck kissing was quite obvious that it was a miss and not a kiss at all. they could def shown better camera angles.

But it is all forgiven as the scene was magical, dreamy and Ashlok looked super hot and sensuous in it. It was too brief for our liking.😭

more than the love/hate story, i'm more concerned about not keeping the original characterization intact. people don't just change overnight just because they realized their love for someone. Shlok could be in love but need not be dumb, dull and emotionless.

Don't know how they are going to take the story forward but I feel the "battle of sexes" coming right at me, about which I'm not very enthusiastic about. I would rather prefer people of both sexes working together and helping each other in this domestic violence issue related to mother-daughter duo, than separating men altogether and demonizing them. This latter approach lacks the "drama" that TV people are crazy about, but if they keep the original characters of Shlok and Aastha intact, there won't be any dearth of spice in the show due to their edgy, intense love story.

i'm posting once in a while. not just as aggressively as before, nimmy😊
i usually follow all your posts and vani's posts but just don't want to whine and spoil it for you guys. so i just hit a like and don't post a reply.😊

yeah it was a little too brief. a liplock could have extended the scene a little. may be shlok could have stripped her off of her jewellery like they do it in all those SR scenes on TV😆

Rekha , it will definitely start out as battle of sexes😉 though I won't complain bad as long as they progress the characters appropriately. Even yesterday you could see the whole 'The Man' attitude in Shlock in the mirror scene(he was so pleased with himself😉) , later in his promises etc. Give the fact that he grew up in a MCP household , it's very unlikely that he does not harbour the male superiority bug. Falling in love would not erase it just like it should not have erased his grey matter🤢 If they revive it I am still willing to forget and excuse it as a case of 'dog in heat'😆
My greatest fear is Shlockie building that temple for Aastha🤢. I hope the makers realise that none of the sexes are greater or better than the other but that they work best when supporting each other. So like you said I would like to see both sexes working together but it will have to be arrived at.
Niranjan - Anjali back story is very crucial to the story for independent reasons as well as the fact that it will have a huge bearing on Shlock -Astha. And that it simply not restricted to the inevitable fight that will crop up. I have always believed that beneath the layers of male superiority , tradition , image there is obsessive and possessive love(yes in Niranjan's sense of the word) that is responsible for Niranjan's behaviour. Shlockie's feelings aren't very different too , he obsesses about Aastha and wants to possess her.Even yesterday when Aastha talks about him being alone his immediate reflex is anger and this could go the Niranjan way or the other way depending on circumstances and the reactions of players involved. Will Anjali's son win or Niranajan's?
Anjali's reasons for staying back are also important , was it children? Or does she too love her Sahib to oblivion that somewhere she feels responsible for the person he is? Does she feel she failed in love , is this atonement for her?😕
