New Releases Dull - Hawaa Hawaai Best Of Lot At Multiplexes

This week saw the release of Hawaa Hawaai, Khwabb, Koyelaanchal, Manjunath, Mastram and Yeh Hai Barakpur and it was business as usual with all the films taking a poor opening as far as multiplexes are concerned.



Koyelaanchal has managed to get a good single screen release as there is nothing else for single screens and collections could be better in single screens though still likely to be poor. Kochadiaiyaan the film that could have taken okay start at places was postponed at the last moment.



The plus (if it can be called a plus) this week is that the opening of films like Hawaa Hawaai and Mastram is better than last weeks releases at multiplexes. Still the collections will be very low but possibly better than last week's best grossers Purani Jeans and Kya Dilli Kya Lahore..

Hawaa Hawaai Mastram Koyelaanchal First Day Business

Hawaa Hawaai was the top film of the new releases followed by Mastram and Koyelaanchal. The business was dull of all the releases but they fared bettered than last weeks films. The six releases occupied around 2500 screens between them but collected just 1.75 crore nett combined. The approx collections of the releases were as follows.

Hawaa Hawaai 60-65 lakhs nett

Mastram 45-50 lakhs

Koyelaanchal 40-45 lakhs nett



The other three releases had very low collections with all three less than 25 lakhs nett. The order of the three was Yeh Hai Bakrapur then Manjunath and finally Khwaabb which was the lowest collecting of all the new releases..

Loved the film, best actor by far this year. Saqib is a talented lad, miles better than most of the newcomers that are either star kids or backed by big production house. hopefully he is signed by
quality directors and production houses soon.
