That wasn't Khushi's text message :) It was just lines of poetry expressing Arnav's POV...I couldn't find a suitable song :)
dasht-e-tanhaai mein, ai jaan-e-jahaan, larzaan hain
In the desert of my solitude, oh love of my life, quiver
teri avaaz ke saaye,
the shadows of your voice,
tere honthon ke saraab
the mirage of your lips
dasht-e-tanhaai mein,
In the desert of my solitude,
duri ke khas-o-khaak tale
beneath the dust and ashes of distance
khil rahe hain tere pehlu ke saman aur gulaab
bloom the jasmines and roses of your proximity
uht rahi hai kahin qurbat se
From somewhere very close,
teri saans ki aanch
rises the warmth of your breath
apani khushbuu mein sulagti hui
smouldering in its own aroma,
maddham maddham
slowly, bit by bit.
is qadar pyaar se hai jaan-e jahaan rakkhaa hai
With such tenderness, O love of my life,
dil ke rukhsaar pe
on the cheek of my heart,
is vaqt teri yaad ne haath
has your memory placed its hand right now
dasht-e-tanhaai mein, ai jaan-e-jahaan, larzaan hain
this khushi is so relatable, the way you show her mind vs heart dilemma is so so realistic. at one point she is remembering arnav, his kisses, his confession everything and want to let go all her inhibitions but later rebuking her thoughts and try to be rational that he is off limits and her moral and upbringing not allow her to think that way. it very touching
arnav has a kid the this piece of information increase her pain more and she think of herself so low and even Google that was she a rebound girl. though in all this she forget that in such a short time if she can feel so much for him why not arnav. but due to bad timing or whatever she is bound to feel that way.
lavanya... i am confused dont know what to think of her at one point she want arnav to suffer and later she also want him in her life. its clear that she suffering but main question is she always like this or circumstances lead her to this condition. i think for that i have to wait.
it was quite evident that this message was not from khushi specially after the whole google thing and when kid is in the picture, but i am really wan to now who sent it because the way he smile and dispelling his shadows makes me curious i think akash khushi's cousin texted him its just a guess.
and simply loved these lines by Faiz saheb so apt for arnav's pov
thanks for the pm
Jen darling, your update forced me to break my silence in writing a comment, it was so prefect that I cannot stop myself from saying something... This story is forcing me to pen my thoughts despite everything. The conflict of emotions in each of the characters has been portrayed so realistically & beautifully, it is almost poetic...
First things first, I just lurrvvveeddd the way you began the chapter. The inner conflict within Khush between her heart & her mind was captured so perfectly I cannot even begin to say... When we're young & haven't faced life's struggles, we all tend to have such lofty ideals & rules & principles that we swear to live by always, & proudly & vociferously tout them not only to ourselves but to all & sundry...
But as soon as we begin to face the first real hurdles in life wherein our interests are at stake, do we realize that ideals are just that I.D.E.A.L. It is only then that we realize that we cannot ALWAYS live in shades of black & white only but rather have to survive in the many shades of grey in between...
Khushi is going through a similar situation. Up until now her life was just perfect & hunky dory, no conflicts or dilemmas in life to deal with. Her biggest decision in life so far has been to decide whether or not to marry a partner so carefully chosen by her parents. Therefore it is quite easy to understand her initial reaction to Arnav, her anger & actions sprung automatically from her long ingrained principles & lack of experience in dealing with conflicting situations like the one that arose... She was ready to condemn Arnav's actions & words at the first chance & refuse to speak to him at all...
But now slowly, after hearing Arnav's explanation & especially his confession about his feelings for her, Khushi is beginning to realize how difficult it is to live by those lofty rules that she had laid down for herself... Her heart, in spite of knowing Arnav's relationship status, in spite of knowing he might have a child, refuses to ignore or forget him. She is now seeing the first shades of grey... Making her want all the things she has been longing for even if those goods may be forbidden...
Remembering Arnav's confession, his touch, his smell, wanting to be the sole recipient of ALL of his love... Wishing Lavanya to be a perfect bitch so that she can accept Arnav's love guilt-free & then reprimanding herself for being so petty... How cute is that, isn't that something, that we all want ? 😊 This is so perfect hats off to you Jenny for capturing & portraying the see-saw of emotions within Khushi now. Just loved it.
Just loved the way you depicted Khushi learning about Arnav's past through the help of an album. I could literally feel the emotions going through Khushi's mind as she discovered each of those pictures & the joy & pain she felt... I especially loved the way you described Khushi avoiding looking at Arnav's wedding picture, you couldn't have captured it better... Her heart refusing to see him as someone else's groom...
Khushi is now trying to find ways to justify to her mind why what her heart wants is still ok, of course the little conscience within her is raising it's head now & then, but I hope her text shows her taking baby steps in at least wanting to know Arnav's side of the story & maybe she will then decide once she hears that... And I am sure her heart will be more than willing to give them a chance once she hears his side of the story... Now I am really, curious to know what Khushi texted him...
Coming to my theory, which I now want to refine it a bit 😉 So, methinks, La forced Arnav's hand in marriage by getting pregnant & he had no option but to marry her but he never loved her. The reason why, he is so resentful of La but obviously adored his little son, perhaps the only silver lining in his otherwise troubled marriage. This may explain the reason why La seems so desperate about Arnav, she may have gotten him as a husband but never received his love... And like many others, it seems to me too that they may have lost the child somehow & for some reason, Arnav holds La responsible for the loss of his child... Looks like La is suffering from some kind of post-trauma depression, probably related to the loss of Aarav... This maybe the reason why she seems to be fluctuating in her emotions in wanting to hurt Arnav on one end & also desperate about bringing him back. Dunno, maybe I am just jumping to conclusions here, but that's the impression I got so far... Will wait for you to reveal more...
Fabulous update, continue soon...
Btw, I am a huge Dhoop Kinare fan. I love each & very nuance in that show, & the lines you quoted in the end from Faiz Ahmed Faiz were just perfect, & brought back many lovely memories...
