Chapter 5"Zoya are you listening to me?" Hummy clicked her fingers again in front of zoya's face.she is being trying to talk to her since when zoya entered all scared and frightened; from that time itself humaira and nuzhat and calling her but of no use, she seems to lost in something deeply.
"What made her so much scared?" They wondered.
"Zoya, take this water" nuzhat gets a cold water from hostel cooler and hand it to zoya but she refuses to drink, she stays there stagnant; eyes locked on floor and sweats flowing freely from her forehead.
"Zoya!" This time humaira shook her hard from her shoulder to bring her into talking condition.; " talk to us zoya! What happened to you?" Hummy had her limits and now she really wanted to know what went wrong and why is zoya behaving so afraid and frightened .
Zoya slowly raised her lashes up and looked at hummy and nuzhat's concern eyes, she no longer could bear the emotions under her and so she shut her eyes and again the same incident started to play in back of her mind.
"Zoya?" A voice came behind her, she turned to see who it was and a beautiful smile appeared on her lips.
"Yes professor Raj?" She smiled again with a small blush as the discussion she held on taking raj as her partner for fresher night is still fresh in her mind.
"Good morning zoya" professor wished her but he looked too nervous today, zoya could see his finger constantly touching his collar and cuffs for air.
"Professor" she call him softly; " is everything ok?" She asks pointing at his nervousness and his deep breathe signing discomfort.
"Yeah i ...i am ok dear" he replied with a nervous smile and she too nodded with a yes.
"Zo...zoya!" He again called her when she is just about to live. Zoya turns behind in confusion but the smile is still intact on her lips.
"Are you, are you going for fresher night on Saturday?" He asked trying to be casual but in real he was far from it.
"I ...i don't know professor. May be yes but i am not sure" she sighs looking on floor.
"Why is that so?" Raj asks curious to know whether she is booked or not already.
"I , dont have partner for night" she ends up her head hanging on chest as she remembered hummy's forced argument to take her to party.
"Neither do i! Zoya" he pauses for a second as zoya nods on yes absentminded; " so if you think its right and if you are comfortable , can we go together for the evening?" He asked in a twisted way but the truth was he had proposed her for saturday night.
Zoya's eye shot up in surprise and she looks up at raj who is waiting for her for an answer. She thinks for a while before hummy and nazma's discusion poped in about how good he is, how interested he seems to them for zoya, also in matter they had talked about his age difference too. 'He is just in 20's!'hummy had objected on one of zoya's ranting. Zoya giggled on the thought and with a pause she looked up at raj nodding her head in yes.
"Of course professor, i would love to come with you on fresher night" she accepted his proposal and waited for few seconds more observing his reaction on her agreement.
"Thanks , i will pick you at 7 then ok." He said a kind of cool attitude show off to hwr which she quickly swayed away in air.
"Thanks sir, i will be ready by then" she whispered while making her way back to her lecture hall. Crimson red color appeared on her cheeks as she took few steps towards her classroom ; the buzzing of sound from her cell helped her to get away from all shy feel.
"So you are coming now!" Nazma giggled fron other end while zoya looked at her reciever and then near by her curiously to spot them around.
"How do you know?" She asked taking a small circle on her place itself.
"Gustak larki! Messenger himself wont know what! What he had send in message?" She laughed on her own complicated joke. Hummy laughed on her sentence and pated hwr hand gently on nazma's arm and took the phone from her to talk to zoya.
"She means to say, you should thanks us babes for letting professor know about your marital status as well as party status." Zoya found her eyes widened up in shock , she looked at her reciever with an unbelievable expression for a while till ahe heard hummy again ; " oh ya, you can thanks me with Temptation pack. I will happily accept your thankyou dear with little bonus" hummy acted like having chocolate dreamily while zoya made up her mind to take hummy's class in hostel as soon as she see her.
"Yes of course, dont go anywhere, i am coming in 5 minutes." Zoya says with a fake smile,internally she had already planned for a good kill of hummy and all those who had tricked her with professor.
Groaning internally she cancelled the call and slided it under her pocket, she was too engrossed with the prank that she unknowingly stumbled upon a bouquet lying on floor. She quickly said sorry looking around but spotted no one close to it, "No owner for this beautiful flower" she sighed sadly as she had unknowingly stamped on the beautiful flower spoiling it badly.
She picked up the bouquet and wiped dust off flowers with her hand and with a gentle brush,she took it to near by bench keeping it over the wood "sorry" she quietly said to those flowers which came below her feet and with that she turned and left the place with a small hint of guilt.
"Zoya where are you? You know what, hummy is still waiting for your thank you chocolates; come fast na?" Nazma said over her phone looking behind hummy who is winking her eye on her with a giggle and high-fi.
"Yes of couse, me too dying to get your gifts darlings, but you have to wait I have some work in library after that i will see you" she said looking at the books in her hand whose submission date is today itself, which means before lunch break.
"Ok?" She asked again on getting no response from other side.
Nazma looked behind hummy and holding a hand on the reciever to cut off zoya from listening she dictates what zoya have told her " she is not coming now" she whisper hoarsely.
Hummy shower her hand gesturing 'why'?
Nazma replied making a book out of her two palm and eyes rotating to ceiling which meant she ia going to library as library is upstairs near terrace.
"Ok , tell her its fine" hummy replied back while zoya tried to focuss on mild gibberish voice coming from cell phone.
"Haan! Its ok zoya you finish your work first we will meet later." Nazma repkied in panick and then composed it with giggles and smiles.
"Yeah ciya" with that zoya disconnected the call and with a smile she slided her phone back to her cell.
"A/c no 2078" the librarian reads out the number between the stamp of our college and checked it with the pile of cards aranged in orders with names of book.
"Here it is!" Zoya points out but i think he did not like the idea of someone helping him with his work as soon he reverts back to zoya with an annoyed look behind the glasses.
Zoya gulp a little before laughing nervously on no-joke at all.
"Sir can you please tell me where us commercial management reference section here?" Zoya asks him with a smile but his glare on her face remains intact as he points to behind with thumb "there on right"
Zoya quickly nods and walks of the place , not wanting to see his predator glare for her.
She checks with books and picks up few which title interests her. No sooner she have books more than she could carry to the table with her two hands.
She looks here and there for help but finds no one for help and so with a helpless cry she starts to walk untill she sports someone in exact opposite section of her , the guys has his back to her and he is wearing a hoodie which is strange thing to see in season of summer.
"Excuse me!" She called but he didn't reacted nor did he looked at her once.
She tried few more time but he was simply not in his mood to look at her, with a groan she finally muttered stupid under her breathe and decided to go on her own to the table, as she was leaving , a faint tune of whistle started to play in the close room of library she was sure she had heard this tune before but where? She lacked tge memory to recall within her. Her steps stopped on their own , she waited listening to the beautiful tune the same guy was whistling , yes she was sure it was him as there was no one around her apart from him. To not look like stupid she thinks to check fiction section; zoya pushes books from one end to other ,pretending to be looking for book but in reality her heart had arrested her feet on its place, and they cannot move.
Her eyes gets closed as the tune fades and eventually stops in between. Zoya's eye shot opens up and she turns to looks at the hoodie boy who had disappeared from her sight. She creased her brow in confusion as she could hear some sound around her. She closed her eyes in concentration and soon the brow tensed up more "it looks like tap is leaking" she says as the drops hitting on floor becomes clear to her with each seconds.
She shrugs her shoulder and us about to move when it strikea her that she is in book section and there is no way to have a tap around here at all. She feels her stomach churning and her guts kicking her, soon her feets starts to tremble and beads forms on her forehead. The grip on her book loosened up and they all fell down on floor with a thud!
"Oh...oh shit" she let out a squeak and jumped in air , scared of the noise the book made.
Zoya quickly leaned on knee picking up the books aranging back on her hands she tried to get up when she felt a push and the shutting of the door above her head of bookshelf echoed in four walls freaked out even more she took few steps back and tried to see the face of hoodie guy but her eyes got pulled at the drops that were falling from his hand. She looked at him in shock as she realised what is the red drops felling are and with a loud scream she ran off the place with his hands mark on her t-shirt.
The boy too had ran behind her as she passed the door lettimg all books fell from her hand on floor, he picked up everything she scatter and aligned it back on their shelf and with a amusement he walked out of library.
"Bhaijaan ap kaha gaye the?" Ayaan asked looking at asad who was busy in removing shoe.
"Lecture ayaan" he simply said not bothering to face him while talking.
"But bhaijaan ap to kisise milne ja rahe the? Kya hua uska have you got date for saturday?" Ayaan agains inquired as he had seen asad going with bouquet which he had orders from a flower shop early morning.
Asad keeps quite as the image of zoya saying yes to the professor plays in his front. Immediately his hands form fist and he gets heavy on his breathe.
The squeezing of palm muscles led out to drain more blood from his injured palm wetting the floor, ayaan looked at him in shock and with a yell he tune in for cloth and first aid.
As soon as asad eyes lay on the bleeding hand immediately his eyes gets soften at the memory of her standing to him so close. He gets his hand close to his eye and with other hand thumb he wiped the blood poring out and the irony of destiny is the wound is in shape of "Z'
He laughed a little with tears still shining in his eye on the sign of god that she is his.
