Coming back to topic... Did anyone ask South Indians if they want to be part of the show? and if they did , wouldn't we need a judge from the South as well... (to defend their accent or whatever is their quirk..) Do you think AR rehman would oblige...😕

From what I understand from experience of travel in the south , they don't speak or refuse to speak in hindi /english which is ok ...

As far as NRI's go, most of them have keen interest in Indian movies/Tv and Hindi so it makes perfect sense to find someone who will be watched by the market they represent.

Here i feel we miss s singer like Nihira... absolutely pristine voice quality and classical base.. may be there is someone there - but so far all except for the pakis and that dubai guy and that american dhoklaben, are looking frivolous more or less..the UK guy was hilarious.. i mean i would agree there that a south indian guy like hema would have been better unless Zee got pounds worth...😆

Phew! 31 pages I had to read and I am still figuring out the "real" debate!

Everyone agrees it was unfair not to go to the South. The other point is why bring the Pakistanis. It's quite simple - these guys were participants in Zee's Saregamapa Middle East and Pakistan Challenge. ID and Bappi among others judged the contest which was won by Amanat Ali and the runner-up was Junaid. They must have made an impression on the judges and the producers, to have been included in a primarily Indian show. The auditions were held in Dubai and these guys qualified. Everyone's going on about Zee not being allowed in Pakistan. This is has nothing to do with Pakistan. Zee is aiming for the ME market. There are a significant number of Pakistanis living in and around the UAE. The majority are hardcore Star TV/Kekta soap audience. What better way to wean them off Star and bring them to Zee? The Pakistanis are good, but don't tell me we don't have better talent in India. My feeling is that this whole concept of "Vishwayuddh" was to get the singers from outside India, and thus the overseas audience. Look at who is ruling the roost right now - Mauli 😉 Lagta hai KJo and Yashraj say training mili hai Zee ko! 😆

seriously guys...I really think we have talent down south. It is not tapped due to sms factor in reality shows now a days. God knows how long we will have to wait before we hear a Hema or a Karunya again😕
