I think the producer of the show makes sure everything is made available to the unit for the smooth running of a show... which includes scripting, sets, props, etc etc.. Come up with new ideas to make sure the show gets maximum viewership. In TV they also probably have a say in which direction they should turn the show for it to be successful. Of course have meetings with the channel and make sure they're happy with the progress of the show so the show's well funded and well promoted.. And after all that.. They also have to count the money and see if they've made any profit whatsoever!😆
