Kripa- Thanks so much for looking after Rahul, Suman aunty
Suman Aunty- No problem, what are neighbors for, call me if you ever need anything again, and Payal honey, don't scare us like that again
Payal- I won't aunty
Suman smiled and left.
The next day at work, Kripa was putting subscriptions on the computer at work, when she heard footsteps, and she looked up.
Kripa- Angad! what are you doing here?
Angad- Told you, I'd make sure we keep in touch this time
K- But.....how did you find out I work here?
A- You told me you were a pharmacist, so I went to all the pharmacies in town and here I am
K- You went to all the pharmacies!?
A- ......no, actually I called your cell and I guess one of your colleagues picked up, they told me you work here
K- oh.......that sounds more logical
A- So, it's around lunch time and I'm starving, would you like to join me?
K- ......I have to work
A- Don't tell me you don't' get a lunch break
K- I do but.....
A- Please Kripa, or else I'll think we really never were friends
K- Shut up, okay, I'm coming, let me go tell someone to cover for me
A- Alright
Angad and Kripa both sat down at a restaurant.
A- So, why did you go to Canada Kripa, and that too without ever calling me?
K- oh.....erm....there was a good medical program there......I didn't know you would come back to India, I called America and found out you weren't there anymore....so, thats how we lost touch
A- And In Canada you met Prithvi
K- ......Payal told you about him?
Angad nodded his head.
K- Yea.....I met him there.....
A- I'm sorry about the divorce, he really messed up but along with that he lost the chance to be with a great person like you
K- ......whatever is written in our destiny happens......Prithvi wasn't written in mine...
A- And Mishty wasn't written in mine
K- I'm sorry.....
A- Don't be, like you said, we can't get escape from what's written in our destinies, hey, so you have two kids, Payal and.....what's your son's name?
K- Rahul
A- That's cool
K- I don't know if I have the right to ask this or not, but... why haven't you remarried?
A- You're my friend, of coarse you do, anyway, the answer to your question, it's hard finding the right partner again, and I'm sure not too many girls would want to raise someone else's child
K- Than those girls are stupid, because I'm sure not even their own blood can give them a sweet daughter like Riya
A- Wow, nicely said
K- Thank you
A- But Kripa, even you haven't remarried
K- ......yea....I......I don't have the courage to fall in love again......it hurts when your trust breaks, you can always move on, but the pain is always there
A- If the pain is still there then it means you still haven't moved on, trust me, one day you won't have any pain, and that day you'll know you moved on
Kripa smiled- When did Angad Khanna start speaking such words of wisdom?
Angad- I've gotten wiser since you left
K- I admit it, you have.
A- I really missed you Kripa, I wish I could have been there for you when you needed me, I'm sorry
K- In this case, we're even, because I wasn't there when you needed a friend either
Angad smiled. He was glad to have Kripa back in his life. He still remembered the high school days, the days that could never come back.
FLASHBACK:
Angad walked towards Kripa's desk after the bell rang.
Kripa- Those notes were so long, my pen ran out of ink
Angad- Then why take them, hey come on, I have to get to lunch, I'm starving
Kripa- Fine, fine, one minute
Kripa put her books in her book bag and was about to walk out of the class, when the teacher called out Angad's name. Angad rolled his eyes and turned around.
A- Yes Ms. Mandira?
Ms. M- Angad, you don't put any effort in my class, I know you're graduating in a week, but please, at least pretend to try
A- Alright tomorrow I will, and Ms. Mandira, did I tell you, you're looking like a babe today
Angad winked at her as he said that which made her blush.
Ms. M- You boys are too much! Now go
A- See ya
Kripa and Angad both walked the long lonely hallway to lunch.
Kripa- Angad....I....erm.....actually..---
A- Kripa, spit it out, come on, what do you want to say to me
K- Not now, but graduation night, I want to tell you something
A- Graduation night, thats a week away, tell me now
K- No, graduation night you'll know what I want to tell you
A- Alright, but give me a clue
K- Angad, have patience, I promise, it'll pay off
END OF FLASHBACK
Kripa shook Angad as he came out of his thoughts.
A- huh?
K- Where were you lost?
A- oh.....nothing, sorry
K- It's alright, I have to get back to work now
A- already?
K- It's been forty-five minutes already, how much more do we need?
A- But.....fine, I'll drop you
K- No, I'll take a cab
A- I'll smack myself if I let you take the cab, now we wouldn't want that, so come on
Kripa shook her head and smiled as they paid the bill and walked out.

After work, Angad walked inside his house and saw Riya watching tv.
A- How's my princess?
Riya- Good
A- How was school?
Riya- The usual, but dad, why are you smiling so much, anything special happen today?
A- .....no.....but, I met Kripa for lunch, it was nice
Hearing that Riya jumped out of her seat and stood on the couch.
Riya- That's awesome!
Angad- ....okay....but what are you getting so hyper over?
Riya quietly sat back down.
Riya- oh....nothing, but I'm happy for you
Angad- you're crazy Riya, I'm going to go get changed
After Angad left Riya smiled. She was glad they did keep in touch after all. She would never let them separate this time. As long as things keep going the way they are, she was they'd fall in love by no time, just a little help from her and a little from God.

Kripa- Rahul, shut the playstation off and come eat
Rahul- Five minutes mom, I'm about to beat my own score
Payal- Boys are so weird!
Rahul- And girls are stupid
Payal- Are not!
Rahul- Are too!
Payal- Are too!
Rahul- Are not!....wait.......
Payal smiled and sat at the dinner table.
Later that night, while Kripa was sleeping in her room, she quickly woke up sweating. She couldn't let Angad find out the truth she had been hiding from him for six years and that truth was his son Rahul. Rahul was Angad's son and as much as her or Prithvi denied it, he wasn't Prithvi's blood. She still remembered the night of their graduation.
FLASHBACK:
After graduation a group of people, including Angad and Kripa, went to party, where everyone was drunk. Kripa walked to a lonely and deserted beach after she couldn't take the loud music anymore, but even she was too drunk and almost out of her senses. She looked at the stars as the cold wind blew her light brown hair across her face. She felt someone sneek up behind her, she jumped, but calmed down when she saw it was Angad.
drunk tones:
Kripa- You scared the life out of me!
Angad- Sorry.....what are you doing here?
Kripa- nothing
A- what did you want to tell me
K- .....should I say it?
A- .....yea
K- ...........i.....i love you
After that they both sank into each other's arms and made love to each other all night.
The next day they were both embarrassed of what they had done. Angad didn't remember Kripa saying "I love you." And Kripa regretted telling Angad I love you without being in her senses, he probably thought she had no clue what she was saying.
Angad later finally went up to Kripa.
A- .......hey
K- erm.......hey
A- Listen Kripa, about last night, I'm so sorry. It was my fault, I shouldn't have been that drunk.....
K- It's not just your fault......mine too, lets just.....forget about it
A- Cool and never speak of it again
K- Deal.....but Angad.....do you remember what I said to you last night?
A- ..........no....sorry, too drunk.....erm......what did you say?
K- erm.....nothing, exscuse me
Kripa walked away from him. Angad and Kripa both knew how awkward that conversation was, how could someone forget spending a night with someone, especially when it was your best friend you slept with. But like they said, they never spoke of it again. Angad always felt guilty around Kripa, he didn't want her thinking he had used her, so he left and went to America. Two months later Kripa found out she was pregnant. She knew she had to tell him, but she was crushed when a friend of Angad's told her the most horrifying words.
Kripa- Suraj, did Angad call you at all?
Suraj- Yea, guess what?
K- What?
Suraj- Angad is coming back!
Kripa smiled and thanked God he was sending him back, she found it hard to survive without him.
Suraj- And you want to know what else Angad told me
Kripa smiled- What?
A- He's in love!
Kripa blushed, she knew sooner or later Angad would realize his feelings for her
Suraj- He met someone in America, her name is Mishty, Angad said he knows he only knows her for two months, but they both want to get married, he's bringing her back and they'll get married here in India, can you believe it!
Kripa's world came crashing down. She left a confused Sujal and went home. The last thing she wanted was to take Angad's happiness away from him, she knew Angad would never marry Mishty if he knew she was pregnant. Kripa went to Canada. She became friends with Prithvi there. Prithvi knew she was pregnant, but Kripa never told him whose baby it was. Prithvi wanted to marry her, not because he pitied her but because he was in love with her. Kripa eventually agreed and after marriage even she fell in love with Prithvi. Prithvi gave Rahul a father's love and soon he forgot Rahul wasn't his blood.
END OF FLASHBACK
Kripa took a deep breathe. She would never let Angad find out Rahul was his blood, his own son.
