Chapter 10 : Haunting Past

Swayam came out from his room for dinner but Taani was again nowhere to be seen,He was expecting that only.

He served food in two plates and marched towards her room.He knocked on the door and in reply heard her faint 'come in' only.As he entered inside he saw her sitting there on window and gazing outside.Thousands of knives stabbed his heart as he saw her sitting there lifeless.He was missing his old chirpy sister badly.He wanted his old bubbly,sweet Taani back who knew only to spread happiness all around.The girl who used to make everyone smile is now deprived of smile.He was dying to hear her laughter.

Kepping all the thoughts aside and putting a smile on his face he entered inside.

Swayam:"Baccha,look I've brought your favorite dishes for dinner"

He said chirpily and in return just got her emotionless attention only.He kept the food on bed and she just got up and sat beside him.

He offered her the plate and she took it mechanically and started eating.

The girl who used to talk non-stop while eating was now eating without a word.

Swayam:"I forgot to bring water.I'll be back in a minute"

He excused himself when he could not control his emotions.

He entered inside kitchen and then the dam of his tears broke down.He could not stop himself from crying.From so many months he is trying to bring her back to her old self but she is acting like there is nothing left for her in this life.

After controlling himself he moved inside with water but the sight inside broke his heart into thousand pieces.Tears again made their way from his eyes.

There his baby sis was sleeping cuddling on bed with a photo frame in her hand.Her empty food plate kept on side table and his plate untouched just beside hers.

She didn't even wait for him to come back.She doesn't even care for her Bhai now.

~Nightmare~

Arjun was driving the car and Taani was sitting silently beside him.She was fuming in anger.He promised her that they both will go on a holiday after completion of her semester but now he postponed it.Her workaholic boyfriend loves his work only.

Arjun:"Baby,I am sorry.I know you were waiting for this trip from so long.But this contract is really very important for our company.But I promise we'll leave in a week."

His said sweetly keeping his hand on hers but she jerked his hand in anger.

Taani:"No,Mr.Kapoor I'll not go anywhere with you.You take your work on trip.I am clearly not intrested"

She said fuming.He just smiled on her antics and stopped the car aside on road.

Arjun:"Hmmm So you'll not forgive me?"

He asked shifting towards her seat and snaking his hands around her waist.

Taani:"No.Never"

She slapped his hand away.

Arjun:"Okay.I'll be back in a minute"

He said getting down from car.She looked at him questioningly and he pointed towards ice-cream parlor at other side of road.A smile crept on her lips.

He gave her a flying kiss and marched towards parlor to buy her a ice-cream.He knew his child like can melt with ice cream only.

Taani:"Arjun"

She shouted and he turned back.

Taani:"I Love yo..."

She shouted but her words kept hung between as he got hit with a car.

The whole world stopped there for Taani.She kept sitting there motionlessly.His body fled in air and then thrashed on road hardly but she just could not move from there.

~

She was sitting silently in hospital corridor.Doctors were operating Arjun inside the Operation Theatre.She was still in shock with everything happened.And more to that no one was there beside her to console her.There was no shoulder for her to cry and no one to assure her that her Arjun will be alright.

She waited and waited for long hours.Every second seemed like eternity to her.Her heart bleeding with the thought of losing love of her life.The image of a little girl sitting outside operation ward while doctors tending her mother was flashing in front of her eyes.She was shivering with the thought of losing her Arjun.

After long hours doctors came out from OT.She wanted to rush towards them and ask them what about Arjun's condition but her legs were not supporting her.She felt like her whole energy drained out of her body.

Doctor:"Ms.Shekhawat we tried everything but patients internal bleeding is not stopping.He doesn't have much time.We are sorry"

Sorry.Sorry.She hated this word so much.How could they just be sorry when she lost the most important person of her life.How could they just tell her that they couldn't save her life,her love.

She didn't acknowledged their words and just moved inside his ward.

She saw him sleeping there on bed with his head bandaged.Her heart screamed her to stop but she took all the courage of world and moved ahead.

She touched his forehead with her hand and he opened his eyes and smiled at her.

Tears were flowing continuously from her eyes.She caressed his cheek with her hand and he just smiled in return.He wiped her tears with his hands.

Arjun:"I love you"

He said lovingly and like always her heart skipped a beat and a smile appeared on her lips.

She just hugged him tightly without caring about his injuries.

Arjun:"Can I ask you for something?"

He asked hugging her back.She just nodded her head not in condition to speak anything.

Arjun:"I want you to get married to Rey."

Sharon was sitting beside Swayam and consoling him.Only she knew how much he was suffering because of Taani's condition.

They were sitting in living room and then they heard ringing of door bell.

Sharon got up and opened the door.

~

Rey restlessly driven through the streets of Mumbai City.He was really confused as well as hurt with Taani's behavior.He didn't knew the reason behind her anger but he was determined to make everything normal again.

He would not let that Arjun ruin his and Taani's beautiful relation of friendship.He snatched his love but now he would not let him snatch his friend also.

~Nightmare~

Taani was hell shocked when she heard those words from Arjun's mouth.She could not believe he just said that.How could he even think that she'd marry some other guy.She'll better die than loving some other men than her Arjun.

But before she could speak anything he just held her hand in his grip and she could see the helplessness in his eyes.She just lied down beside him on bed and slept there to feel his heartbeats.

She was feeling lite when she was sleeping beside him listening beating of his heart.

~

ShaReYam were standing in living room when they heard Taani's heart wrenching scream.

The trio rushed towards her room and they saw Taani sitting on bed all drenched in sweat and shivering badly.

The very next second Swayam was beside her and was hugging her tightly to remove all her pain.

From past three months this only scene he was witnessing every night.Every night Taani's screams would shatter him more n more.

He just hugged her tightly to assure her that everything would be alright.Sharon was helping him to make Taani drink some water.

But Rey was just standing there confused and scared.His heart bleed when he saw her in such a state.

Sorry for no TR.But from next chapter TaaRey story would start.From now on only TaaRey in updates.

Clarificatin:You all were confused with Arjun's behavior.But he was acting like that because he wanted Taani to get the best.He was scared with depth of Taani's love for him.He knew that she always lived in shed of his father and brother's care and after them it was him who was there for her.So,he was scared with his own love.He just sensed Rey's love for Taani and he wanted Taani to make choice again.He wanted to give her all the options.

I sketched Arjun's character like this only.Who cares for other more than himself.And his selfless character is the main beauty of story till now,according to me offcourse.

It was really painful for me to end such character.But it was needed for the storyline.
