Mita Vashisht's Kashmiri act ( Trishna)

Vashisht will be a part of a Kashmiri play based on a mystic poetess Lalla Ded and is going to be showcased at the Hungry Heart Festival in New Delhi tomorrow.

The play titled The History of Lalla Ded: 1320-1389 is set in the 14th century which is deemed as the most unfavorable time for the cultivation of mystical powers lying hidden in our beings. And it is in this period that Lalla Ded's special contribution through her poetic lines have enhanced the minds of Kashmiri people and its culture and given it a mystical edge.

In the theatrical representation Mita is playing the lead role as Lalla Ded. "I like the history of Lalla Ded which inspired me to me to do this role. For me it is my honor to do this role. I'm doing the rehearsals right now as the play goes on stage tomorrow in Delhi," says Vashisht.

Mita currently seen on the small screen in Ghar Ghar ki Khani has won great appreciation for her work in films like Ghulam, Taal...but became famous as Devika in the serial Swabhimaan written by eminent writer Shobha De. This versatile actress has also song a rap song with Shubha Mudgal.
