Vidya Balan has 5 more films before year end!


Vidya Balan had just one release each on 2005 [PARINEETA] and 2006 [LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI]. But in 2007, she would be visible throughout the year with at least 8 of her films hitting the marquee.

Come July and Vidya Balan film festival would begin with 5 of her films coming one after another. Beginning with HEY BABY, soon to follow would be HALLA BOL. Later she would be seen in one of the stories of DUS KAHANIYAAN while in BHOOL BHULAIYA she would be back to playing a central protagonist.

In addition, she also has a small part to play in OM SHANTI OM.

Earlier this year, she was seen in GURU, SALAAM E ISHQ and EKLAVYA. While in GURU her role was hardly the kind that would make her fans happy, she was a mere prop in EKLAVYA. The only film where she had a good role to play was SALAAM E ISHQ which unfortunately crashed at the box office.

Dilli, Chandni Chowk, Monkey Man et al!


Rakeysh Mehra is going the whole hog to guard the storyline of Dilli 6.

His claim that the movie is based on his growing years in Chandni Chowk, has more to it than what meets the eye.

Reportedly, the film draws from the infamous Monkey Man incident that rocked Delhi a few years ago.

Also, after Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan begged out of the movie, the filmmaker has now roped in Siddharth for the lead role (of Rang De Basanti fame).

Also, he has had a few meetings with Vidya Balan. Our source adds, "Yes, Siddharth has been signed and we're in talks with Vidya."

The plot revolves around the Monkey Man hysteria that surfaced in Delhi in 2001.

The four-feet tall monkey-like creature with thick hair, metal helmet and glowing red eyes would reportedly appear in night and attack people.
An insider from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Productions (ROMP) says, "The film is about the Monkey Man scare in Delhi about six years back. Superstition among rural immigrants in Delhi also added fuel to the fire at that time. The film will take a closer look into the elements that caused the paranoia back in 2001."

When quizzed about it, Smita Baliga, executive producer of ROMP, says, "I don't know of it."

BHOOL BHULAIYAA dubbing from May 10


We had told you earlier this week about Akshay Kumar having proceeded on his Caribbean holiday, after completing the shooting of his Priyadarshan directed BHOOL BHULAIYAA (that is the latest spelling!). Here is more about the movie featuring Akshay and Priyadarshan, after a hat trick of box-office winners.

The dubbing of T-Series' BHOOL BHULAIYAA will commence on May 10. As mentioned above, the entire shooting of the film has been wrapped up by Priyadarshan. Based on a story by Madhu Menon, the film has screenplay and dialogue by Neeraj Vora and music by Pritam. The Akshay Kumar, Amisha Patel, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja and Paresh Rawal starrer is scheduled to release on August 24.

Priyadarshan's 'Bhool Bhuliya' will see the fresh pairing of the talented duo Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja. In the movie, Vidya plays a dancer and director Priyan was shocked to learn that the actress had two left feet.

Vidya however; took on the challenge and learned Kathak in just a month's time. The actress had the choreographer train her every day in an apartment that she rented near her Chember home. Vidya would practice for hours until she had perfected the art.

Vidya amazed not only Priyan but, her costar Shiney as well with her new acquired dancing talent as she could dance like a pro.

For a song sequence, Vidya was required to dance while Shiney was to admire her but, Shiney was so impressed seeing her dance that he got excited and lifted the actreess.

The shot was, "Okayed" by Priyan but, poor Shiney couldn't move as he had sprained his back real bad and it took him a day to recuperate from the sprain.

We are sure that after the incident Shiney even 'Bhool se' will not think about lifting the not-so-light Vidya.

I am surprised that a respected website like yours could publish such a false article about Shiney's back problem after lifting Vidya. I share with you as insider to this film, as i was on the set during this shoot: Firstly, Vidya Balan does not have "two left feet". She is infact a naturally good dancer, but the public as not had the chance to see her dancing in any released film so far. You will go WOW when you see her dance! Secondly, the "not so light" Vidya is actually light enough, like any of the other leading ladies Rani Preity etc. Thirdly, most importantly, Shiney did NOT hurt his back after lifting her. I was there - he lifted Vidya properly for the song, he did not sprain his back at all, and the next shot was taken instantly. I wish in future your respectable website does not publish false news. Thanks!
