Nice discussion going on here.....
Dharmathin thalaivan was my fav one too....he acted superbly as the professor. Annamalai was good but after that all his following movies got stereotypical with him rising from poor to rich and 100 men following him. But chandramukhi made a difference.

VIjay is total waste....he is stereotypical..i appreciate ajith in that respect, he is bold and adorns several styles like Kamal. The latest Bharath, vishal...are good. Bharath makes a good pair with Bhavana.

>PRAKASH RAJ
I forgot to mention....there is one actor who i always will be crazy too...thats Prakash Raj. I used to like him from his kayalavu manasu days and even now mozhi.
Also the films he produces are all good...very mild and smooth movies...romantic comedies.

MOZHI
I just loved Mozhi. the concept itself.....a musician loving a deaf and dumb girl...evlo ironic. The best of the movie was when prithvi(another craze)....talks to jyothika in her house when she refuses to attend swarnamalya's marriage. He says..."Neethandi enna azha vachutta" that was so sweeet. I personally hate men calling women with "Di".....but it was very appropriate for prithvi to use the di at that point.....the helplessness and anger he had...very nice portrayal of emotions in the movie.

Yupe, Madhu and Rhodes.

Prakash is really super in whatever role he does. An excellent performer, and one of the reasons for why some movies become super hit, likes Thiruvidaiyalal Arambam. I am always impressed how he can manage do a "daddy" role and then play second hero in movies like Mozhi, Azhagiya Theeye etc.

Raguvaran was also good, but what happened with him?

Prithviraj is also a good actor, but we do have to see more of him.

BTW, on our discussions about the heroes, we have forgot Jeyam Ravi(Like Dhanush, I think only his brother can get the best out of him cause I have only like his him productions (esp. Jeyam and M.Kumran) and Deepavali ( not his home production), Sibiraj ( he can do improve better but he has to make a image for himself and not fall into his fathers shoes), Arya ( he was good in Arinthum ariyamellum, but otherwise I don't like him), Prasanna ( he is also very good, like his movies, Kasthuri man and Azhagiya Theeye)

don't get me wrong yaar. i do like rajini, in fact more than kamal but too bad, he's always churning up masala type of films that only try to gloify him to the max. i remember one of his rare films that i really really loved. it was 'Dharmathin Thalaivan'.😊 it was the tamil remake of Amitabh Bachan's 'Kasme Vaade' i think. rajini was excellent in the film. whether he was potraying the meek professor or the rougish rowdy.👏👏 and the song 'Then Madurai Vaigai Nathi' is one of my fav melodies till now.😃

Me too Jiggly. I like Rajni movies better than Kamal. Kamal is agreat actor always soes a serious role. To me watching movies is for entertainment, I don't want to cry there too. After seeing MahaNathi, I never watch Kamal movies if it is serious. Almost all Kamal movies are taken insipring from some english movie. Magalir mattum is a great comedy movie, inspired from 9-5. AvvaiShanmugi is inspired fromMrs. Doubtfire....But i admit he is a great actor...

Rajni movies are total masala but enjoyable. its very very streotype movies... but still i like it...

meli...Thats really great for bringing out the names of Budding stars...
You listed correctly the names of Prithviraj,Jeyam Ravi,Arya,Prasanna and Sibiraj.
We have to see them more on screen to analyze..
Arya did a good job in Arindhum Ariyamalum..and have to watch him in Naan Kadavul which is in production..We have to wait and watch..
Jeyam Ravi is handsome and developing his acting in each movie..only thing he needs to improve is his manliness in his voice especially when he talks loud dialogues..

Prithviraj is really doing a decent job..I really admired his very casual acting in Kana kandein in which he did a negative role..and also equally good in Mozhi..just two films old ..so got to watch him more with many characters..

Prasanna being good looking and next boy door image...has done some good films like kanda naal mudhal..yes he is also an actor to watch..still ways to go..

Sibi..though very much eager to establish himself as an actor ...he needs lot of hardwork and improvement..but cant say hardworking and perseverance and good script can bring a good actor from him..

Meli..Raghuvaran is acting in some films now..i think we can see him in sivaji...
Yes he is one of the unique actor who has disappeared for long..

Talking about todays leading actors...yesterday was one of my fav stars birthday. its none other than Ajith😳
Looking forward to watch his next movie, Kreedom 😃

here is an article about him from Indiaglitz:

The 'Ultimate Star' of Tamil Cinema, Ajith celebrates his birthday 1 May. He labored his way to top in Kollywood and quite appropriately his birthday falls on Labors Day.

With his much-awaited Kireedom all set for release, the actor is gearing up to commence the shooting for Billa, a remake of yesteryear Tamil hit titled the same starring Rajinikanth.

Ajith is one person in Kollywood who proved his worth on his own merit without any influence. In spite of many hurdles in his career he has won the heart of millions of Tamil movie fans. It is a known fact his movies have opening that are second to none other than 'Super Star' himself.

On this special day, we at IndiaGlitz wish him all the best and many more happy returns of the day.

Thanks for the Indiaglitz news update on Ajith Meli.

Vikram is also another guy who struggled and came to this current position of his by his own merit, without any influence. I like Vikram's acting.. and him, especially in 'Sami' - the Police officer role suited him very well I think.
