Shot three
What happen when suddenly one day you found out that the person whom you adore and cherish in your life n dreams on the edge of slipping away from your hands and that feeling just pierced your heart and you felt like dying thousands of times in each second
"why did you hide this from me" virat asked suddenly from padmini who was sitting beside him on the sofa in the corridor of hospital. His voice trembled a little when he asked "am I nothing to you that you hide such thing from me" he again asked in hurtful tone. Only he knew how he felt when he saw manvi laying in the pool of blood, his heart cut into zillions of pieces when manvi's image of coughing blood flashed across his brain. His body shivered thinking about the possibility that what if he hadn't reached on time, he might have loose her forever. He could never imagine his life without her not even in his wildest dream...
"because manvi didn't want anyone come to know about her disease. Specially you, coz she knew that if you find out about her disease then you wouldn't concentrate on yourself. She can't see you in pain and moreover she didn't want to hurt you" padmini blurted out the truth clutching the sofa into her fists on both of her side. Virat looked at her with more hurt expression
"hurt huh" he chuckle a bit "so do you think I am not hurt now? On one side she use to call me her bestest friend and on other side she hide such a biggest truth of her life, why?? She hurt me a lot by doing this and I wouldn't forgive her easily" he clenched his fist to calm his anger. Pain, hurt, anger all these emotions were clearly visible in his eyes. All this while he was being kept in dark, he was unaware from the fact that his manvi, his best friend is suffering from the deadly disease like cancer. He was angry on himself that why didn't he able to find out about it before. He had always doubt that padmini and manvi are hiding something behind their smiles but it could be this he never imagined that...
"virat it's not like that" padmini started but virat didn't listen her and stood up from the sofa. He walked a little and stood in front of i.c.u where she is laying unconsciously fighting with her life and death. Drips attached to her and she was inhaling air through the oxygen mask, beeping sound machines were echoing in the whole room. Virat placed his hand on the glass door as if he was trying to touch her. he should be broken n shattered right now but no he stayed strong for her, for padmini whom he consider as his own mother and he didn't shed a single tear coz he knew that if he break down then it will be difficult for him to handle padmini and manvi
He sighed sadly thinking about the hurricane which had recently came into his life. These few hours had changed his life completely. Now he realized the reason behind manvi's rejection. She was scared from the consequences, she was afraid that his life will be ruin with her if she accept his proposal. Her selfless nature increased his love for her and once again he fall in love with her madly. He was stood still in the same position when Rohit and Raina came rushing toward his direction. They immediately rushed to hospital as soon as virat informed them about manvi being admitted in hospital.
"virat what happened to manvi" rohait asked hurriedly. There was panic and concern in his voice. True that in he didn't like when manvi rejected virat's feeling for her but it didn't mean that he didn't care for her. when virat didn't reply raina rushed to padmini who was sitting on couch and was crying her heart out
"aunty please tell us what happened to manvi please aunty" raina was on the verge of crying and she was fighting back with her tears to saw padmini in devastated state but padmini didn't say anything and just hugged raina tightly crying her heart out
"au..aunty now you are scaring us, kya hua manvi ko" raina asked in fear what if something big had happened to manvi. There was silence for few minutes and rohit raina were still unable to find that what happened to manvi
"she has cancer, blood cancer" virat spoke breaking the wall of silence, the moment he blurted out these words time stopped both rohit raina freeze on their respected places, eyes widen in shock and heart stopped beating for a moment
"cancer" they both spoke on the same time when they recovered from the shock. They were unable to believe on their own ears. That was shocking piece of news for them. Raina looked at padmini whose condition was getting worse
"please someone save my child please" she cried helplessly for her daughter who is the only reason that she is living her life. Virat rushed toward padmini and embraced her consoling her. raina stood beside rohit who was still in shock
"shhh relax nothing will happen to her. we will save her, I wouldn't let anything happen to her trust me" he rubbed her back and console her. he was consoling himself more than her. rohit and raina looked at them helplessly with their moist eyes. "Raina please take care of aunty I am just coming in few minutes" raina just nodded and sat beside padmini. Virat immediately left without saying anything. Rohit also rushed behind him coz he new virat needed him right now and he could understood his friends situation very well...
Not tolerating the emotions which was bottling up inside him like lava he made an excuse and rushed from the hospital and reached in the nearby park before he break down. He was helpless and his mind was unable to understand that how to face this difficult situation. Tight now his mind was not working and he just wanted to set fire in the whole world. He pulled his hairs into his fists and kneeled down on the ground. He was shattered and heart broken into millions of pieces. Manvi's rejection didn't hurt him the way he was hurt now after found about her disease coz he had trust on himself that one day she will accept him and his love but what about her disease, how will he find the way to save her...
"virat" virat's trance of thoughts broken when he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard his name. he looked up and saw rohit looking at him with concern n worry "control yourself virat, she will be fine" rohit said consoling him but virat let out a little laugh in response
"and how? How she will be fine" virat asked with most painful expression "how she will be fine when doctor had clearly said that she has very less chances of survival" he felt like dying thousands of times when this statement escaped from his mouth. Only he can understand the condition of his heart, his pain which he was going through right now
"wh..what do you mean?" rohit asked in fearful tone. He was scared what is coming up next
"meaning is clear, we are on the edge of loosing her" virat said in whisper and his voice almost chocked. Rohit was speechless and he didn't say or ask anything afterwards. Both of them were lost. Rohit didn't know how to console virat, would he say again that she will be fine. It would be an understatement. Ring of phone brought them back to reality. Rohit attend the call, it was from raina
"okie we are coming" saying that rohit shut his phone and looked at virat whose condition was vulnerable and it hurt him to see his friend in this state. He placed his hand on virat's shoulder "raina called me and told me that manvi is conscious now, let's go" he whispered in a low voice. Virat just nodded and dragged his feet toward hospital...
Few days later
Manvi's condition was stable now and doctor had discharged her. they strictly advised her to take proper care of herself and medicines on time. She had taken leave from college for few days. Rohit n raina often came to meet her and cheer her mood. Manvi always felt guilty for making them worry coz of her. she knew that they all smile in front of her to cheer her but she could clearly saw pain behind their smiles. Even virat also use to come at her house and check on her sometime visiting her house and sometime through phone calls. He still didn't make any conversation with manvi but every detail of her current state reached to him through padmini and he was very thankful to padmini that she understood his emotions and feelings toward mannvi. On the other hand manvi was also missing her old friend in him who use to be fun loving and naughty. She was hating this new virat coz he had changed a lot and she wanted her old friend back. Sometime she felt guilty and cursed herself for making everyone suffer. She wasn't dying with cancer but the pain of her loved ones was eating her up alive...
It was night time nd manvi was sleeping peacefully in her room. Her figure was looking thin than before and face was pale. Dark circles had appeared below her eyes lashes due to lack of sleep. Suddenly she felt a cramp in her stomach and she clutched her stomach tightly as a shot of pain went through her like an electric shock. Her breath got hitched as she felt short of breath. She could not able to breath properly and her whole body was aching. The pain was unbearable and she felt like the end of her life is near now
"mo..mom" she called for her mother breathing heavily but her voice was not audible enough to reach her mother's ear. Tears slipped from her eyes as she realized that she was leaving her loved one's behind. Suddenly the door of her room clicked open and saw the most wanted person of her life "vi..virat" she cried even more to saw him
"MANVI!!!!!!!!!" he called out her name loudly and rushed toward her immediately. He engulfed her in his arms and rubbed her back to provide some relaxation but nothing was working "shh nothing will happen to you don't worry I am just here with you" he murmured and consoled her but he was consoling himself more than her
"vir..virat..virat please save me please" she pleaded for her life in chocked voice. Her body was turning cold and eyeballs were turning white.
"nothing will happen to you please stay strong.. please stay strong" he repeated same words again and again but he himself on the edge of breaking down to her vulnerable state. "aunty please come soon" he called out padmini loudly. His life was turning dark and he was drowning in the emotions of pain n misery
"kuch nahi hoga tumhe main..."he stopped in between his sentences when he saw her cold and fragile body laying lifelessly in his arms. She had become cold, numb, eyes were open but her heart had stopped beating, her pulse wasn't working "manvi..manvi" virat called her again and again, he patted on her cheeks to saw any movement in her but she stay still same and she had a smile on her lips. Virat was not ready to accept that truth, the truth that she lost her forever. She would never gonna come back in his life. Now he would never see her smiling face, she would never scold him when he do any mistake, she would never get irritate from his pranks coz she had gone far away, far away from him, far away from everyone to never come back...
"MANVI!!!!!!!!!!!" virat screamed out her name, his whole body was shivering and sweat beads were forming on his forehead. He punched on the staring wheel of his car angrily. It was the most darkest and horrible dream of his life. For a moment he thought he had really lost her but he mentally thanked to god that it was just his dream and he would never let this dream come true. He recovered himself from the fear and looked at manvi's house. Today he wanted to talk her and wanted to pour out his emotions which he buried inside him from last few days. He wanted to tell her how he is feeling, he wanted to tell her he wouldn't let anything happen to her, he wanted to tell her she isn't alone in this war he is with her and will fight with her till the defeat that deadly disease like cancer. Thinking about this he hoped out from his care and walked toward the entrance of her house through the little garden area. He walked toward his life who was waiting for him to come and pour out his emotions...
Gathering up all his courage virat stepped inside manvi's house using spare keys which he had with him. His heart was heavy with deep emotions and he was walking without any expressions on his face. On the way to manvi's room he saw padmini
"aunty" he called her in shattered and broken voice. Padmini looked up at his pained expression and it hurt her to saw him in this condition
"virat when did you..." Her sentence left incomplete when suddenly virat hugged her. padmini was taken aback with his sudden action but the next moment she immediately understood what is bothering him. She was very well aware from the condition of his heart and pain. She felt so helpless and miserable right now coz both of her kids suffering and she was unable to ease their pain. Padmini rubbed his back in a motherly way and tried to console him without saying any word. Virat didn't uttered any word from the moment he came and just hugging her closing his eyes neither he shed any tear, his vulnerable state was scaring her...
"virat tum thik toh ho na (are you ok?)" she asked in worried and concerned tone. Virat immediately parted from the hug, he looked everywhere but not her...
"i..i am going to see manvi" he said hurriedly and rushed upstairs toward manvi's room leaving a baffled and worried padmini. She slumped down on couch and tears rolled down on her cheeks..
"hey mata rani why are you testing my kids so much? They don't deserve to suffer. Please I request you let them live their life peacefully with each other. Give them their share of happiness" saying this she buried her face in her palms and cried till the tears dried and refused to come out. She was mourning over the fate of her kids which was playing with them continuously...
Here virat entered in manvi's room which was pitch dark and only the moon light was coming in her room through the open window. Lamp on the side table of her bed was still on and only the dim light was coming through it so virat could see her face clearly. She was indeed looking pale, fragile and thin. Although she was sleeping in sitting position she had still her glasses on her nose and it seem like she was studying something and had fallen asleep. May be it was the effect of heavy medicines
He walked near her slowly without making any noise. He admired her for long time without blinking his eyes when suddenly something caught his eyes in manvi's hands. He take out some pieces of papers from manvi's hand and was shocked to see that it was those letters which he had written for her and secretly kept in her books. He looked at manvi in confusion coz he thought that she didn't notice these letters but no he was wrong. She had kept all those letters with him then why she never talk about this. Then he saw some more pieces of papers beside her and saw manvi's writing on it. He took them and his heart beat faster against his chest when he was going to read
"virat what is this you love me but how is this possible? I can't love you coz you are my best friend and moreover i...i.. have..."
After that she didn't wrote anything and virat read second reply with heavy heart before glancing at her sleeping form
"you again kept letter in my book that too without my permission. Don't you understand if I didn't reply your first letter it means I don't want to reply huh..."
Virat chuckle at her reply and imagined her cute pouting face which might be she had made during this reply. Then he again start reading third one
"viraaat why don't you understand we can't be together. I have one big problem and I don't think it would be solve. Please stop running behind me..."
Virat looked at manvi with heavy heart and pain in his eyes. His muscles tensed when he re-read that letter. Now he understood what's her problem. He closed his eyes tightly and to stopped the tears which was brimming up in his eyes. Then he read her fourth reply
"you wouldn't understand na. ok don't listen to me and do whatever you want. Now I wouldn't say anything to you"

Virat could feel her pain when she had written these lines. He knew that she had been surely cried when she had written this. Then he read her fifth reply
"acha suno I love you too. I don't know when I fell in love with you but I really love you. I also want to spend my life with you and grow old with you but fate had stored something else for us. We can't be together virat coz i.. i.. I have cancer"
Virat was stunned, surprised n shocked after reading her confession. He creased that letter with his fingers and it had tear stained on it which mean that she would have been cried a lot. The letter fell from his hand and finally tears made it's way down his cheeks. He cried finally. After all he also wanted the same. He also wanted her to confess but now when he found out that she too loves him he didn't understand whether he should cry his heart out or he should be happy. Wiping his tears he read another letter
"virat please save me. i don't want to die so soon. I want to live, with you. I love you virat"
Virat placed his palm on his mouth to stop the whimper which was ready to escape from his mouth. Today he faced the biggest truth of him life. They both love each other but her cancer is the biggest wall between them. He gently took her hand in his and placed his another hand on her hand
"nothing would happen to you.. I promise I wouldn't let anything happen to you. We will fight against this cancer and defeat it" he said confidently and his each n every word held so much determination and promise to defeat her disease. Now he wouldn't break down and would not show himself weak. He will be her strength and will fight to save her from death.
