@Manali: LOL that's nice...I'm a film buff too but I guess a bit different in that I can't just watch ANY movie as a "stressbuster"...I need SOME sense of connect, some semblance of SENSE...so I don't feel like watching a movie in the theater simply cuz it's a "biggie" or a "big release"...I guess if I had a group of friends to constantly go with I'd do it as a group activity but no one else in my life is as interested in movies...and I hate going for movies I want to watch with ppl who will talk and make fun of it throughout...so😆

Movies are so dicey these days...I'm not willing to spend money to go watch CRAP for 2-3 hours...atleast tv shows online come with a FORWARD button and I don't have to sit through all of it.

Oh you started watching Suits? Cool :-)

I do watch it...LOVED the first season...second season was good in the first half, not so much in the second half and then the third season so far has just been ehhh😆...it's lost the zing of the first season but I still watch the show for timepass.

In the first season, all the characters were awesome...by the third season, it's mainly Jessica that I still love as much...Harvey's become pretty blahh now although I loved him in season 1.

'Financial Freedom Is Very Important'-Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput, who has made it to a famous list of achievers compiled by a business magazine talks about the significance of money

I would like to emulate the perfection and intelligence of Aamir (Khan). " Sushant Singh Rajput, actor

At a time when Bollywood is bursting at the seams with young talent, Sushant Singh Rajput has made a mark for himself. After delivering two hit films last year " Kai Po Che and Shuddh Desi Romance " the actor has now made it to the prestigious 30 Under 30 list (he is the lead in the entertainment category) that is compiled by a reputed business magazine.

Here, he talks to us about making it to this club at the age of 27 and what it takes to deal with the money and fame that accompany his job as a Bollywood star:

How important is the money, and the luxuries that it can buy? I won't deny that financial freedom is very important.

It gives you the freedom to make choices, to say yes' to the films you really want to do. It gives you the courage to take a risk. Also when you look around, you feel great especially when you've grown up in a middle-class family, but it's extremely important that we don't work for these things (money), if we work for passion and love, everything follows.

Among the other actors who are under 30, who do you look consider your biggest competitor?

Ranveer (Singh), Arjun (Kapoor), Ayushmann (Khurrana),Varun (Dhawan), Sidharth (Malhotra), Aditya Roy (Kapur), Rajkummar (Rao)... did I miss anyone? They all have great potential and it is also because of them that the structure of our scripts and the kind of films we are making is changing now.

There must be someone from this lot who has impressed you the most?

Then it has to be Rajkummar Rao. He's a fabulous actor and he has achieved everything in life with sheer hard work and talent.

Who are the other achievers (in Bollywood) you look up to and want to emulate?

I would like to emulate the perfection and intelligence of Aamir (Khan), the charisma and passion of Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan's (Khan) skill and Hrithik's (Roshan) decision. And there are so many other things that inspire me. Many feel that among the young actors, you are the most promising one. Are you aware of this expectation people have of you? Yes, I am. And I feel excited every time I hear it. To make a promise is a good start, but to keep that promise is the most exciting and challenging part... and that starts now.

How does it feel to have topped the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list this early in your career?

I am really excited. I recently saw Shah Rukh Khan on the cover (of this magazine) as he had topped India's most powerful celebrity list and I was wondering what it would be like to feature in one such list. Then very quickly, I stopped entertaining that idea thinking that it would take me many more years. But this is a great validation for me to keep working hard and dreaming big.

Does this put any kind of pressure on you?

No, why would it? On the contrary, such things only encourage you. You realise that it doesn't matter whether you are from the industry or not. If you are absolutely certain, you can achieve your potential.

It must feel good to know that you're on the right path now?

It has definitely reinforced my beliefs. But I have a long way to go. All our conditioning has made us extra careful; we're always told not to be different and not to make mistakes. But I would rather make big mistakes and fail miserably, than work for mediocre success.

PIL against 'Gunday' dance

KOLKATA: The Ranveer Singh-Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Gunday', due to be released on February 14, has landed in legal trouble over a song and dance sequence shot in the city.

On Monday, Calcutta high court lawyer Krishnendu Gooptu filed a PIL wanting to know why permission was granted to shoot the sequence against the backdrop of the Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Calcutta high court. The matter is likely to come up for hearing on Friday before the bench of Chief Justice A K Mishra and Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

The petitioner went through a clipping of the song Tune Maari Entriyan that has Ranveer, Priyanka and other actors gyrating near the statue of Surjya Sen outside the high court and in the courtyard of the Dakshineswar Temple.

"At Dakshineswar, the sequence was shot just outside the sanctum sanctorum where devotees gather in their thousands on any given day. The temple was the abode of somebody of the stature of Ramakrishna Paramahansa and such behaviour there should never be encouraged. One wonders when the sequence was shot. It must have been done when the Goddess rests and nobody is allowed inside the temple. The other possibility is that the devotees were prevented from entering while the sequence was being shot. Either way, what took place was not right. In 2011, permission had been sought by another producer to shoot a sequence inside the temple. The request was turned down," Gooptu said.

The PIL also states that permission should never have been granted to shoot the sequence against the backdrop of the high court, which is a high-security zone.

"I have prayed to the court to delete the scenes from the film when it is released. I have also sought directions that such permissions shouldn't be granted in the future," Gooptu added.

Yep third season is going on right now...it was on break and will return with the second half of epis in March...the show has become very predictable and repetitive now...the characters have generally lost their credibility...Harvey is a joke now to me in many ways😆...they've lost the momentum they had in the Harvey-Donna equation too...Mike ka toh chalta rehta hai...one character that grows on you later on though is Louis Litt...keep watching to know how😆

Sherlock toh phir Sherlock hai yaar...Benedict Cumberbarch...'nuff said😆

Hellooo!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Sorry for being MIA for a bit! I'm going to India in March! YAY!! So excited! I'll get to play Holi after YEARS too! And it's my birthday that month so I'm treating myself to being desi to my heart's content and catching up with my family! YAY! :D

Mitsyyy DUDE, you thought I was married? haha Wherever did you get a notion like that? Dude, I am not even CLOSE to getting married. Not even close to getting close! hahaha I've never been anything but single in my entire life. I don't even know how to not be single...jeez...I'm a hopeless case according to my parents. lol They actually WANT me to date or do SOMETHING to kick start the marriage process. haha But I disappoint. I'm too much of a lazy bum..who can be bothered to do all that work? I am the kind of person that needs to pushed out of my status quo because I get too comfortable otherwise. I am not moving out of this comfy bed types...you can't make me. 😛😆

Ok I'll stop with that bakwass...but aww Mitsy you remembered that "kidaan" thing? Aww...☺️

I watched the movie Lootera finally. It was coming on TV. And I quite liked it. Sonakshi was beautiful and brilliant. The only complaint I have, is that I wish the background music wasn't so loud. I couldn't quite hear the dialogues at times because of it. And I wish Ranveer's character had been sketched out better. In terms of his mental struggle and conflict. I didn't think we got to see enough of that. So his redemption/guilt didn't make me connect as much either, because I didn't see enough of the struggle. I felt more for Sonakshi's character, and I felt that Varun as a character acted more as a supporter to Paakhi. Instead of getting his OWN path/story as well. But I loved the references that kept leading to something bigger throughout the movie. It was like a puzzle. I loved the detailing of the movie...so much thought put in which is just rare to see in Bollywood movies in general. And the ending with "The Last Leaf" reference was quite touching. Again though, the ending touched me more for Paakhi's reaction/her character than for Varun.

But Ranveer and Sonakshi had a wonderful brewing kind of chemistry in this movie. It was refreshing to see Ranveer play a sober character too.

Have you guys been watching TP still? It's dragging a lot to some MAJOR drama which is what I want to see! 😆 But there still has been a lot of food for thought in the episodes I think. The build up is slow, but it is getting somewhere. I liked that whole blindfold scene between Anshuman-Paakhi and Ayaan who initiated the game. The dialogues there were very good and a lot of subtext there in between what was directly said and what the hidden meaning actually was.

And I am liking the build up of Anshuman's guilt where now he is feeling the loss of not being able to GIVE Paakhi anything.

I liked that scene of Anshuman wanting to help Paakhi with the untangling of the wool. But Paakhi refusing to take his help this time. Again so much subtext. And then the untangling thing has been a common theme for these guys in this show too. And this time, Paakhi doesn't want to get tangled with Anshuman.

So even though it's slow paced, I like that there is still some character growth and development happening. And if Paakhi is going to be all sacrificing her love types, at least she is making Anshuman feel guilty in the process. Her goodness will always leave Anshuman feeling small. Until he can reach the bottom and gain that humility. And fully accept that Paakhi is just too amazing to loose. And then he can start GIVING to her finally, instead of just taking.

OH and Anu thanks so much for posting all that Gunday baba stuff!! I'm going to catch up on those now and then get back to you here! Yay! Man I am so excited for this movie. After a long time I've wanted to watch a Bollywood movie in theatres! After Barfi I think. 😆

Ok I'll be right back after catching up some more! :)
