Astha did reach Shlok's mansion by six that evening. Dr Verma arrived just as she got in. Shlok accompanied her home since he didn't give her a key that morning. Suresh had taken care of a duplicate key and it had been handed over to her as soon as reached home.
"Shlok, I will handle it with Dr Verma." Astha brushed Shlok off and went with the doctor upstairs. Shlok settled in the living room with his laptop. He had several conference calls to attend and had no time to think about Astha or the doctor.
"I will just take your blood sample for the routine tests Ms Kirloskar. The test results will be directly emailed to Mr Agnihotri." Dr Verma's voice was pleasant.
Astha felt her face get warm with embarrassment. What would she say in reply to the doctor's words? What could she say? Astha just nodded and winced slightly when the needle pricked her. Dr. Verma then proceeded to discuss about the choice of protection. They finally settled on the pill for the time being. Dr. Verma wrote the prescription and then took leave of Astha.
Astha slowly came out and went into her room. She wanted to forget this whole thing and get back to her studies for the time being. And Astha did just that. Take notes and start the preparation for her exams. Astha didn't realize that time had flown, and it was nine at night. Finally she got up and stretched herself.
Her muscles ached all over and she smothered a yawn as she saw the time. Her eyes widened when she realized it was so late. She went out in search of Shlok. He was still over the phone and his laptop. He looked up and saw her. His eyes were blank for a moment, as if he had forgotten who she was.
Astha realized this was how his weekdays were. Filled with meetings, calls, conferences, emails. His phone rang non stop and Shlok was shooting orders or asking questions most of the times. He kept everyone on their toes by the look of things. His empire obviously was not built in a day, and definitely demanded lots and lots of hard work.
"Do you need something Astha?" He was still preoccupied.
"Dinner?" She sounded hesitant.
"You still haven't eaten?" He frowned. "I guess you can order something. Just let Suresh know what you want and he can get you something I guess."
"What do you usually have?" Astha wanted to know something about him.
"I just order something or make a sandwich or something." He sounded so vague that Astha thought he must hardly have his dinner on time. Well, this is the first thing that is going to change, she said to herself. Astha quietly slipped away from the room without Shlok realizing and went to the huge kitchen.
Thankfully the grocery was well stocked by Radha. Astha went about preparing dinner for Suresh and both of them. She hummed a Hindi number as she cooked. For Suresh, who came to check what the noise was, it looked totally domesticated. Suresh was partly happy his boss found a woman worth keeping this time and he prayed his boss should have the sense to keep her with him always.
Astha turned around as Suresh entered. She stopped humming for a minute and gave Suresh a shy , hesitant smile. Suresh nodded his head formally "Ms Kirloskar, please let me know if you need something."
"Well, to start with, what does Shlok like the most? Which cuisine? What dishes?"
Suresh pondered for a minute, unsure of what to reply. He himself didn't know much though he shadowed his boss 24*7. "Hmm..he likes simple and tasty food I guess. Nothing in particular though he loves traditional Maharashtrian food." Astha realized with a pang that there was no one to even know what Shlok liked.
She cooked the rotis, paneer sabji, and raita. Astha then went to Shlok who had finished his calls and was now peering into the monitor of his laptop. "Shlok, dinner is ready." Shlok looked up in surprise. It was past nine thirty.
"You still haven't had your dinner? I asked you to ask Suresh." He was anxious and a little angry that she didn't have her meal.
"No, I have made dinner. If you don't mind you can also join us."
"Us?"
"Suresh and I."
"Hmm...quite homely we are is it?" He teased. Astha flushed and didn't say much.
"I don't mind preparing the dinner daily if you don't mind." He shrugged in response, as if he didn't care one way or the other. But since she had taken pains today he joined her and they went to the table together. Suresh was standing by the table. Shlok asked him to sit. All three of them had dinner.
They finished their meal with Astha remaining silent for the most part. As usual Shlok was shooting questions at Suresh and he was answering his boss to the best of his abilities. They all got up after the meal. Suresh thanked her for the meal and left for the day.
Astha cleared the table and was about to go to her room when Shlok pulled her along to the living room couch. "Let's watch something on TV. What's the hurry?"
"Shlok, it's half past ten. I need to be up early tomorrow." Astha protested.
"C'mon, just for a while." He didn't give her the chance to protest a second time. They both sat down on the comfortable couch and Shlok pulled her to himself. They started watching the program and slowly his hands went around her and caressed her arms. Astha snuggled into him even more and concentrated on the TV. She yawned again and thought of calling it quits when his lips lightly kissed her neck.
Astha's breath hissed out of her throat. She closed her eyes as his tongue came out to slowly lick her neck. "What did Dr.Verma say? When will you be ready?" He murmured those words into her neck.
"I will start taking the pill from tomorrow." She almost stammered out the words.
"Hmm..tomorrow morning you will get your prescription." His words were hardly entering her brain. Shlok nudged her face to his side and he bit her lower lip hard. She gasped out aloud while his tongue entered her mouth at that instant. He was ruthless and his one huge hand held both of hers above her head.
He slowly leaned on her while she went back, until her back touched the couch. He was practically on her, still kissing her mouth. Shlok was already rock hard and he rubbed his member on her center. "I can't wait to f**k you." Shlok almost groaned those words out.
She wanted to touch him but was unable to. Strange, the other day also he held her forearms to prevent her from touching him. What was going on? "Shlok..." She managed to take her lips away from his and murmur his name.
"What?" His voice was slightly ragged. Astha felt her heart leap at his tone. He was also affected as much as she. He was affected by her. She wanted to whoop in joy at this small victory.
"I want to touch you." She sounded breathy and shy. But it had the opposite effect than what she had expected. He stopped and sat up by her side. His breathing was uneven while she was practically heated up. Astha looked at Shlok in confusion. What was wrong? Why did he stop the minute she wanted to touch him?
"It's getting late. We need to be up early. Come on." Knowing she was not going to get her answers, Astha went up with him. This was only a momentary set back for her. Astha was determined more than ever to discover and unravel the mystery called Shlok Agnihotri. And what better way than to live with him and becoming his?
