That's another deliberate factual error. Chimna's wife Rakhma died soon after childbirth in August 1730. Mastani was living with Bajirao in Pune since July 1729. Which means Rakhma died a year after Mastani entered the Peshwa's life, and not before the Bundelkhand campaign of 1729, as shown in the PB episode.
Although Chimna was married to his second wife Annapurna a year after Rakhma's death Rakhma's son Sadashiv was brought up by Kashi and Radhabai because even after her wedding Annapurna lived with her parents until she attained puberty.

When they showed Mastani to be of Kashi's age we can ignore this minor error of Rakma's death. Nana shd have been around but makers did not want to waste their money on a child actor.

Not a minor error, it was a deliberate error. The real Kashi and Rakhma were on good terms with each other. After Rakhma died Kashi helped to raise Rakhma's infant Sadashiv. Likewise Kashi was confined at home raising Chimna's duaghter and Mastani's son after the loss of the children's parents. It takes a certain maturity to accept such responsibility. However no film or show maker will ever acknowledge this, they'd rather show Kashi as someone who was childish and impulsive.PB makers tried to portray the Peshwa's strained relationship with Kashi prior to the Bundelkhand campaign. Bajirao is seen entering the residence with only Radhabai there to greet him while Kashi is away attending some social event. He then cuddles infant Sadashiv and there is talk with Chimna about how life is lonely without a wife. The serial makers are defending Mastani's entry by trying to prove that Bajirao was unhappy in his marriage with Kashi. Such projections are historically inaccurate.
