I didn't mention this before but even Gaumbi's slap wasn't shown on TV where I am. They just cut to the reactions after.

Lol, I think he knows (she literally wears her expressions on her face, and he probably knows even her microexpressions as she grew up with him), but he just does nothing because he doesn't want to deal with such emotions. Loving a spouse is very different from loving a family member, so he probably is scared/not interested in navigating through all that
