Music Theme

Hello!smiley31

It's the weekend again, which means it's time for a new theme!

This week's theme is: Nostalgia and Memories!

a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition. also : something that evokes nostalgia.

Sometimes we listen to songs which take us back in time, remind us of our childhood. Those songs will always remain precious to us no matter how old they get. Old is gold.smiley27

For me, it would be all of the superhit songs from the 90s. For some of you, it might be songs even older than that. For some youngsters, it may be songs from the 2000s. Everyone has their own memories!

Post all the songs here which have past memories associated with them!smiley42 Language is no barrier.

Any songs that fit the theme can be posted here!

I'll start with my favourite childhood songsmiley27

Lyrics

तुज आठवतो का बालपणा?

बालपणातील सहवासाच्या थोर जाहल्या आज खुणा

Tuza āṭhavato kā bālapaṇā?

Bālapaṇātīla sahavāsācyā thora zāhalyā āza khuṇā

Do you remember childhood?

Markers of our company in childhood have grown up today

उद्यानातील ही पुष्करिणी

हळूच खुडिली कमळे कोणी?

कुणी गुम्फिला हार मनोहर आणि वाहिला सांग कुणा?

Udyānātīla hī puṣkariṇī

Haḷūça khuḍilī kamaḷe koṇī?

Kuṇī gumphilā hāra manohara āṇi vāhilā sāṅga kuṇā?

This is the lotus-pool in the park

Who delicately plucked the lotuses?

Who wove a delightful garland, tell, and presented it to whom?

इथे रुजविली कुणी मालती?

कुणी घातला मांडव भवती?

कळ्यांत पण या तुझाच दिसतो अबोल सुन्दर गोडपणा

Ithe ruzavilī kuṇī mālatī?

Kuṇī ghātalā māṇḍava bhavatī?

Kaḷyāṃta paṇa yā tuzhāça disato abola sundara goḍapaṇā

Who planted climbing jasmine here?

Who built an arbour around it?

But in these buds I see only your wordless, beautiful sweetness

झुके डहाळी, तरु मोहरला

त्यास बांधला कुणी हिंदोळा?

कुणी चढविला वरती झोला हात लाविण्या रे गगना?

Zhuke ḍahāḷī taru moharalā

Tyāsa bāndhalā kuṇī hindoḷā?

Kuṇī çaḍhavilā varatī zholā hāta lāviṇyā re gaganā?

The twig bows, the tree has blossomed

Who tied a swing to it?

Who drove the swing upward, man, to touch a hand to the sky?

I remember childhood

Thanks for posting this theme, Hinna!

Some of the songs that stir up nostalgia for me:

The earliest Hindi songs that I remember memorizing in full, when I didn't even speak Hindi and singing (often with wrong lyrics) when I was a little kid..

I am not from India.. but here in Aden .. during my childhood days and even today , you can listen to Indian songs playing in the corners .. there are lots of Yemeni ppl with Indian origions who live here.

I remember this song from my childhood.. was about 7 yrs then. And it had my 1st Indian actor crush.smiley36

Lizzie. Have definitely heard it before. But didn’t know name of tune band. 🤣🤣. I feel like at some time I used to listen to this tune often but can’t remember the exact association of where and when 🥲🥲.

I thinks Indian ads has a lot of nostalgia for me. Some of their ads are amongst the best in the world. So good idea TM. :).

I heard this one daily. Our dorm master used to play it for us all the time. From waking up to afternoons/ evenings on weekends etc. and nothing to do with lyrics. But one memory that always come flooding back as waking up to it 🎉🎉🎉

This one is truly special. As I have been in the stadium chanting Sachin so many times myself. 🎉🎉🎉. Wankhede stadium and all the wonderful memories there. ❤️

Even in USA I have gone to community events doing all nighter watching matches with dhol chai pakoras etc… him being a huge reason :)
