Dakshaben returns
Ketki Dave is back in the Kyunki team

After resigning from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2001, Dakshaben aka Ketaki Dave is re-uniting with her second family once again for Balaji's special Dandiya episode.
Ketki is nostalgic about her stint with Saas... "The entire team used to be so close that we just couldn't do without each other. I met them after so many years for the Dandiya show. It was just like old times. In fact, when I started shooting with Apara Mehta and Komolika Guha they said that they didn't feel any newness in our coming together again. Many of them must have thought that I'd have changed. But trust me, we just picked up from where I had left."
The woman who once had viewers in splits with her Dakshaben act, says that she loves dancing. That's why she jumped at Balaji's offer to have her participate in the Dandiya episode. Her second innings with Balaji appear to have finally started. It took four years for Ketki to finally make up her mind about whether or not she wants to come back as Dakshaben. "I've always maintained that I want to shed the Dakshaben image as I realised that I was only getting offers for roles on similar lines. So, I thought: Why waste time in creating a replica of something that already exists?" she smiles.
So, does this mean that she is open to the idea of returning to the show? "In the past, the deal fizzled out twice. But now I must say that I'm very keen," admits Ketki.
Did she meet producer Ekta Kapoor to explore the possibility? "I didn't meet Ekta but I did meet her mother. Shobhaji is a beautiful person and was very kind to me. Talking about my comeback, there are chances that I might be back and this time I'm going to keep my fingers crossed." But as of now, it's the dandiya fever that the talented lady is looking forward to. "Ekta has spent a large amount of money on our clothes and the sets as well. Everything is so posh when it comes to Balaji. While shooting, I met Smriti Irani who insisted that I return to the show. Even my on-screen husband said 'you have to come back now! I have no wife in the show and that's very annoying.' It is my colleagues' reactions that have made me change my mind. I hope it works out this time."
