The recent one to transform into an animal, on small screen, is Mansi Srivastava in Divya Drishti. SpotboyE.com spoke to the actress on the transformation and how does she react to the trolling
Another character turns into an animal on the small screen. It’s hilarious, yes, and the actors who undergo this transformation also feel the same. But then, it’s what the scripts and makers demand and these actors are in full support of the same.
The recent one to join this list is Divya Drishty actress, Mansi Srivastava, who has turned into a lizard in the show. Ask her about the first reaction on hearing this and the actress tells us, “It was hilarious for me. I heard about it from my co-actor, Aadhvik and he was teasing me throughout the shoot. We were told during narrations that Mukta Ma’am can anytime turn any character into an animal, so, don’t get shocked when it happens to you. People have played characters of snake and nevla, in the past, so becoming a lizard was fun; also, my character is totally negative now, so, that’s a change too.”
So, when we asked Mansi how she prepared for the character, Mansi replied, “A lizard is quick in hiding and in catching her prey, so, I am trying to play my character accordingly, keeping these characteristics in mind. Also, I have seen shows like Naagin, so I am trying to grasp how the actors move their eyes, their body language and dialogue delivery.
When this character transformation was introduced in the show, Mansi and the show was heavily trolled for it. So, does the actress get affected by the negativity on social media, and she said, “Not at all. I don’t take these things seriously. When Dipika Kakar, aka Simar turned Makhi, she was trolled as well. It’s maker’s call by the end of it and the actor has to do what he/she is asked to do as per script’s demand. If people are hating and trolling my character, it means that they are watching our show which is a good thing. I need to give my 100% to the character I am playing, it’s my job. However, I would love if people refrain from posting hateful comments, because that’s not me in real life, it’s just a character. We all are trying to make a good show and I request my audience to watch the show and take it positively.”
And how could we let her go without asking if she is actually scared of lizards. “I am very afraid of lizards. There was one incident when a lizard found its way into my aunt’s clothes. She felt something moving and went to check, a lizard came out of her clothes. In another incident, a girl was riding a scooty and she saw a lizard come out of her gloves, she lost balance on seeing that and met with an accident. Since then I am very scared of lizards. I hope now that I am playing one, I overcome my fear,” Mansi signed off.
