Do some shows start badly and pick up speed later?

I dont want to spoil the mental image I have of fk.

FK is not the characters he plays, though? He has played extremely negative roles quite well in the past. It is an itv show and, by that definition itself, bad.

After the first 4 super fast episodes, the pace is ok now. Haven’t watched many EK shows apart from initial yhm episodes, so can’t comment on this show being the copy of her other shows. It isn’t a path breaking show (then which itv show has that gripping plots these days🤷‍♀️) but it isn’t as bad I thought it would be after seeing reviews about the shows written by this particular writer 😂 FK said that he’ll do the best with the characters he’s been offered, and itv doesn’t have that many good ML roles, so based on that Ravi as a character is good, FK is doing well.

Ravi is a good character, a sensible, humorous and family guy. Keerti is also a sensible, ambitious and family girl. They both look good together. I am able to connect to Keerti more than any other character, but I am really sad that Keerti is a cameo, she will end soon.

I can't connect with Pratiksha. She is too weak, mahaan, accepts anything for chachu, does not use own brain, more importantly no ambitions other than to be a dharam patni to anyone her chachu decides.

And it is supposed to be the story of Pratiksha, as per promo. She is the core of the show.

Kritika the actor playing Pratiksha is also not helping me to connect with the character. She needs to improve her acting and dialogue delivery

I like watching Fahmaan in a different role, totally opposite to Aryan. But his co actors are not helping in any way

He is not the character; but somehow there is bit of an impact I feel. I used to like the Ghum lead and the storyline somehow made a diff in perceiving the actor.

Also, some of FK success has to be credited to how well the ASR character was crafted.

He is doing his role very well in DP. It's different and I'm sure he'll start bringing other shades out soon.

I already liked Monday's episode better than last week. I don't think the proposal was ott insomuch as Ravi as a person hasn't been hit by life yet. All he probably wants is to marry his bff on whom he can shower all his love, be a kind, happy bloke, to tour the world, have kids a decade later, and go on yearly vacations to goa. He has a lot of romance in him due to his cushioned life yet. As for Pratiksha, her character is not well-fledged at all, and doesn't cushion Kritika's inexperience. I so wish the writing around Pratiksha was a bit crisper and not as situational. Her trauma needs to be explored. They are currently wasting a lot of time in filling up the show with a lot of side characters. However, I think the dynamic they want to bring out is Pratiksha, like many women, doesn't indulge in fantasies. When she's with Ravi, though, he brings out, unintentionally, the whimsical side of her. Keerti, on the other hand, loves Ravi but mostly platonically(?). It'd be great if they show a healthy dynamic between these three characters

The problem is with the execution; it's too cluttered, too many characters having different narratives. They are stressing a dharampatni-marriage-is-life-narrative with the side characters while the main characters have typical rom-com narratives going on. I think the show will be a lot better with a bit of narrowed focus. It feels as if you're in 2010s serial in a Hugh Grant rom com at the same time.

I think Ravi as a character gives FK something to work with. Ravi seems like a very rom-com male lead. As far as itv goes, people do not get to explore these things as actors. Ravi is genuinely funny as well as flambouyantly romantic. I thoroughly laughed my ass off yesterday. FK is lucky to have another meaty role so soon tbh. One who is very much like Aru yet 180 of ASR.

i agree. pratiksha is so run-of-the-mill, it’s almost painful. she’s been thru so much but im not feeling that pain alongside her. i would’ve already given up after a week if it wasnt for Fae

Oh, yeah, I like this week's episodes much better than last. Kritika will grow into the skin of Pratiksha, I feel. Ravi too is being fledged out well.

she needs to bring in some of her own nuances to the role. ekta usually has a good eye for nee talent, so im not really sure what happened here. she’s slightly better that the promos but not by much. im really impressed with Fae as Ravi so far - considering a couple of months ago he was in the skin of a totally different character, im not seeing ASR repeated in Ravi. the supporting characters/ FL need some work and fine tuning tho
