She wasn't really pretty. She had a great body but the face was okay. She also wasn't a good actress. That would've been okay because around the time she came, Bollywood had all these new people who were all weird actors in my opinion. PC used to be really cringe-worthy, Kareena was overacting ki dukaan, Amisha was the hyperventilating queen, Esha couldn't act, Bipasha was also a bad actress but she was hot. Rimi Sen was doing every other rom-com. Malika Sherawat was also around along with bunch of other smaller actresses like Amrita Arora, Payal Rohatgi, Tara Sharma, Riya Sen...I know I am forgetting a bunch. Bhumika had entered the scene from south and struggling. Rani, Aish and Preity were still around but they took up almost all of the big, important movies so that didn't leave any good roles for the newer lot. So it was a tough time to make it. Very few of them had decent roles. The ones who did succeed from early to mid 2000 didn't make it big around that time. They found better movies way down the line.
Also early to mid 2000 was very pair centric in my opinion. You didn't make it out alone, you were part of a pair people liked seeing. Hrithik/Amisha, Hrithik/Kareena. Shahid/Amrita. Akshay/PC and then Akshay/Kat. John/Dino and John/Bipasha. Rani/SRK, Rani/Abhishek, Preity/SRK, Preity/Saif, Tusshar/Kareena and Esha/Tusshar. Lara didn't have someone. Her and Akshay didn't click with the audience and neither did her pair with King Bobby. I think she would've had better luck with the audience if she was in a jodi that people found memorable.
