achcha hai (nana patekar)
Agatha Christie is my number one favorite mystery author. And I believe Vishal can do justice to a Christie adaptation.
I liked what he did with his Shakespeare adaptations, so maybe he’ll get this right too. I’m not totally sold on Indian versions of Poirot and Marple though.
Also, I think with younger protagonists playing the sleuths, with a seeming romantic angle, he maybe better off adapting her standalone works like ‘Why didn’t they ask Evans’? Or ‘Crooked House’.

According to this article, these versions will not feature Poirot/Marple, which is wise in my opinion. But since these are adaptations, they can use the core plot of any book.
Yeah, even I was thinking about those two books. Also, there are the stories featuring Tommy and Tuppence.
Please cast someone who is charismatic.
Wow,,,.... that’s a great news. I’m a big Christie buff. Read almost all of her books. I always thought that these character driven, psychological analysis would be well suited for indian settings. We Indians also have lots of multi layered psychologies and a very old family histories, which is the staple of the Christie novels. Will be looking forward to it. Hope they don’t mess it up.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief, it's not all about the ingenious plots. There are so many dark and fascinating themes in her stories...the dysfunctional families...the repressed personalities! I always wanted some adaptation that really delves deep into those aspects of Christie. What VB said in the article gives me hope.

Miss marple books are boring. Only Hercule poirot books were interesting.
Even in hercule poirot books, the plot and twists were intriguing but not the characters. Only Poirot was superb in all the books.
Hmmm.... it’s the opposite .lol😆. HP books are known be a study in the human psychology . He cracks the cases by studying each individual suspect characters and their motives, unlike the other detectives. Infact, in one of his books, Hercule remarks to his associate that , “ Do u think I’m going to solve the murder by finding clues like a cigarette bud or a footprint?”(I’m paraphrasing here). . I believe it was a snub to the Sherlock novels which were popular at that time 😆
The movie is “Gumnaam”
Gumnaam hai koi is the song.
The movie (not a good one imo) is known in the English speaking world cz of the song “Jaan Pehchaan ho” which was included in the opening credits of Ghost World and a Heineken commercial

Christie has the Seinfeld problem. All her twists and tropes have been copied so many times, adaptations of her work ends up seeming derivative.
Seinfeld’s many jokes, twists and tropes aren’t that original either, only more popular
I came to that conclusion after watching several old sitcoms and some old movies..
