Nagma
Nagma is set to produce a Hindi film, scheduled to go on the floors in June. Talking about the script, the actress says the urge to produce a film stems from her childhood fascination for comic book superheroes Superman and Batman.

Says Nagma, "During my growing years, I fed on these fictional heroes and their overpowering acts. My film (untitled) is an extension of that.

But it is devoid of any special effects and deals with real-life characters, with a few fictional elements. It's a lovely emotional story that can be viewed by children and parents alike."

Superhero inspiration

As far as the plot is concerned, she is tight-lipped. "The story revolves around this superman hero and his acts.

After the film releases, everyone is going to idolise that character because it has great strength and dimension. Honestly, I'm quite skeptical about revealing the plot, as people tend to lift your ideas. It's a novel story and I'm not talking about it till it takes off and my cast is in place."

Viveik, Riteish in talks?

A source says talks are on with the new-block of actors — Riteish Deshmukh and Viveik Oberoi. However, Nagma refuses to reveal names.

"He's a well-established actor and unless he signs the film, there's no point in generating unnecessary speculation. This film is going to be another milestone in his career if he takes it up. There are two leading ladies in the film, too."

Will she act in her home production? "I might play a character but it has to be justified. I can't do it for the heck of it," says Nagma. "I'm also excited about the fact that the cast will include a lot of children. We are presently working out the dates as the screenplay is ready."

Big moolah involved

Nagma admits that it's a big budget film. "Considering it's my first film as a producer, I'm ready to invest any amount of money as the output has to be not only good but great. I'm making a clean film and I'm going to consciously avoid the commonplace frivolous elements that have become an inseparable part of mainstream Hindi films," she says.

Planning a comeback

The actress also intends to lap up a few Bolly films. Presently, she's busy shooting for Bhojpuri films, which include Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu's production, another film titled Ganga (where she shares the screen with Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini), Raja Thakur with Shatrughan Sinha and Saroj Khan's directorial debut.

"It's always better to do A-grade regional films than getting C-grade Hindi films. I've a few appealing Hindi film scripts. I should be able to take a call in a few weeks' time," she adds.
