LOL. I know exactly which one you are talking about that is where Jon gets him tea when Musharraf is there to sell his book. And then Jon asks him if he knows where Osama bin Laden is. Then Musharraf smiles and says something to the effect of I don't know but I wish did or something like that. Jon has the effect of asking really probing questions but in a nice way so he gets away with it. Oh my bad, here is the exact quote.

As a gesture mirroring Pakistani hospitality, Stewart welcomed Musharraf with a cup of jasmine green tea, and offered the more American delicacy of a Twinkie. Musharraf chuckled and thanked the host, though Stewart promptly changed the subject.

I thought Dev did a wonderful job doing an Indian accent. I didn't know he was British until after the movie when I looked him up on the internet. Dev also had a vocal coach for the movie. So I think he did a decent job and he was convincing enough.

But he definitely made some slips ups and you hear his English accent. Like if you ever watch House, you couldn't tell Hugh Laurie is British. His American accent is so good. In SM, you could tell that the actor Salim was from India because he had the accent but Dev didn't.

well i thought he sounded very British throughout the movie.. even his demeanor was very "English".. but it didn't bother me too much.. altho that is why i preferred the child actors to the adult actors because they were very convincing. It was almost like watching bunch of kids from the slums in a documentary..

When I watched the movie I didn't notice the British accent, but maybe that is because I'm used hearing the accent all around me and from myself too.
~ Anyway, I still liked the movie, it was still really convincing! Anil K was great too, super film!

I know what u mean Ouma. It's hard for me to tell that madhuri Dixit has an American accent these days because I am surrounded by American accent in daily life. I bet u could point out her American accent in "aaja Nachle' That's the case with Dev Patel too. He did his best to hide his accent but the Brit twang was very obvious to us non Brits😊
