Suave, stylish and sexy...Asif Azim is oomph personified. The model and entrepreneur (owns an event company), found new grounds of popularity via his impressive stint in the ongoing season of Bigg Boss (Colors).
Asif, an absolute gentleman, walked in to our office as the Guest Editor. After a cup of Black Coffee, he got chatty about his life, journey and of course, his stint in the house of controversy.
"I hail from a very small village in Bangladesh. From there to walking ramps in international fashion shows, the journey has been invigorating. But yes, I have always believed in myself and my ability. Never ever have I resorted to any short cut or unfair means to reach the top. I might be a slow runner, but eventually I will win...I know," said an ambitious Asif.
Next, the conversation quickly moved on to Bigg Boss. So how was his experience? "It was good but also very difficult. You can only survive in the house if you can fight, or do nautanki. I was not ready for that as I wanted to be what I am throughout. I could not be fake; hence I was evicted. But I really could not understand when a couple of weeks before I was the highest receiver of audience votes, I slipped drastically and got evicted the very next time. Quite strange."
Is the show scripted? "Nothing is scripted. But yes the show has a wonderful creative team who studies every contestant and their behavior. They create situations which get reactions from the inmates. They kind of psychologically manipulate us via tasks, less food, less sleep, which makes us all mad in there. Which I think is absolute fine."
He continued, "You now there are many who visit psychiatrists after the show is over. It's very taxing. But it's an experience of a lifetime. However, people need to be fake to survive there. Armaan, whom I hate for he does not respect women, used to come to me and say, I will fight with you for footage, don't mind'. I relented and said I won't fight. Armaan and Tanisha are romancing to survive and so is Kushal and Gauahar."
Kushal is back in the house. Your take on it? "It's wrong. How can he come back after being violent? I hate Kushal a lot as he is a brat. He is troubled in real life. He might be in love with Gauahar for I think he has never seen a beautiful woman like her in his life. And Gauahar is a smart woman who is just using Kushal to win the show. She only wants to win, that's it. She accused me of checking her out. Why would I do that when I have shared changing rooms with her at fashion shows? May be she did that to gain footage."
Hmm...strong words...
And what about Salman Khan, the host. Is he biased? "Not at all. He is the only person who can handle such diverse characters. He is very good at his job and without him Bigg Boss won't be Bigg Boss at all."
Given a chance will he get back in the show and who does he miss the most? "Yes, I have to go back as per the contract. They can call me anytime and I have to respond. And I will miss Heaven the most. He's the best of all."
Whom does he want to win the show? "None actually (laughs). But if at all I have to name someone, it has to be Kamya (Punjabi)."
Asif is currently focusing on his Hindi and English diction skills to be fit to make a splash in Bollywood. As a journo, he also interviewed one of his female friends from the industry (which we will upload soon). Also a detailed video interview of Asif will go live on Tellychakkar.com in the coming days. Don't miss it for it's all about candid confessions and more revelations.
We thank Asif for spending time with us and we wish him all the luck and success in the coming days!!!
