Zindagi
He was sitting in his cabin pondering over the events which took place recently and which took place few years ago. Everything was embedded in his mind.
He never thought that in a few days life could take so many turns. Although he had previous experiences but still it didn't help him much to prepare for another tragedy.
He still remembered very well how he took a few days holiday which turned into a long vacation. A vacation which he needed to give a break to his hectic life and to relax himself from everything.
He himself didn't know how this holiday changed into a long vacation. May be he needed to spend some time with his family and give himself some time. So he didn't hesitate even once to extend his holidays.
But again everything changed in these few days. The news of ETF team's sudden and painful demise shook him to the core. And his friend being accused of all this was another shock. But this time he didn't react like last time. Though he didn't accuse him, he didn't support him also. May be he knew the relationship they shared can never be renewed again.
But as they say 'Man proposes God disposes' nothing happens like we decide. In these few days again when he was transferred to a new ETF team and 'he' had left the force he got to know certain things which could shake every relation and belief he had, 'zindagi' had taken a turn again.
Sikander; the person who doesn't deserve to be called so. The reason behind innumerable crimes varying from drug dealing to organ trafficking, he had a hand behind everything. He was the reason behind the losses of the most important people in his life.
He wanted to finish him as soon as he got to know about his existence but he knew he will not be able to deel with the devil. He also knew 'his' right to finish him was much more than his own. So he handed over all the confined information to 'him.'
Now it had been a month since he had given all the files to Arjun. And Sameer was thinking about all these.
For the first time he faced difficulty in facing him. He didn't know how to approach him or what to say. After all, the past relationship they shared was long broken. And he never tried even once to mend it. He didn't even come back to support him after the blast.
But he knew if he had to rectify for his mistakes then he has to start from there. So he called him one night in a secluded and abandoned area and handed over all the proofs he received which proved Sikander's existence.
There meet was short and formal though there was a parting hug, it didn't help in breaking the wall created and strengthened over the years.
After that Sameer met Arjun in the Commisioner office. Where Dustin Cohelo and he himself was waiting for Arjun's arrival. He came and they first apologized to him regarding Sikander and literally requested him to join back in the force. Although reluctant Arjun joined back the force because he understood he needed to be in the force to rightfully kill Sikander.
After that Cohelo asked Arjun about the plan and Sameer waited to know how he could help. But Arjun didn't disclose any thing. He just said that he wanted to deal with this case alone. And does not want any interference from anyone.
Both Sameer and Cohelo tried to make Arjun realize the dangers of his actions. But he was adamant as always. He said if it is the price that his life has to end to catch Sikander then he's more than willing to do so. And then both the men knew Arjun would not budge.
Now it had been over a month he had met him. He had left somewhere the very next day and didn't even inform him. At first Sameer was very mad at him. But on second thoughts he realized that why would Arjun inform him? They didn't share any such relation by which he can demand answers from Arjun.
Had it been some years ago he would have himself killed Arjun for taking such risk.
Had it been few months ago he wouldn't have even bothered to care about the man he once considered as his brother.
But situation was different now. He was quite surprised how their 'zindagi' is flowing and how it is changing.
He was worried about Arjun now, since he knew he would not think twice to give his life. And there was no news of him, no call, no letter not even a message.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he saw Shree sitting in front of him. Once he joined back ETF the first thing he did was to get back Shree. Though it was difficult for both to adjust with the new team and get over the past they found some peace with each other. And God forbid they had become good friends in these three months.
Sameer looked At the man sitting in front of him and couldn't help but wonder again how 'zindagi' changes. Once a free spirited, happy go lucky, fun loving boy was facing problems in making friends in the new team.
He sighed and shared his thoughts about Arjun and the past with him and both were lost in a long midnight talk consoling each other from time to time.
Six months later Sameer was standing in his house with a picture in his hand. The picture captured his and Arjun's beautiful moments which could never be in reality again.
Three months ago he suddenly got the news of Arjun being critical. He rushed to the hospital with Shree who was equally worried about Arjun. There they saw Commisioner Sir and got to know that Arjun had nailed down Sikander and had uncovered all his wrong deeds in front of the public. This was no doubt a big victory to the police force.
But the price was Arjun's life. He was battling for his life or rather death inside the OT. The doctor had already informed that they had given up all hope, he is critical and seriously injured and there is a major organ failure. So there's no chance for him to revive. But the most shocking thing they heard was when the doctor said it appeared Arjun didn't want to live. It appeared he had given up on everything and was ready to embrace death. And they knew the reason after all who wants to live a life which Arjun had.
But Sameer was in no condition to accept this. He prayed to God to save Arjun. And begged to him not to take away the person who at one time was most important to him.
And may be God had some mercy on him after all what had happened. Arjun was saved.
Now, today he invited Arjun for dinner at his place. He wished him to stay at his place with Shree and himself but he refused. Many a times he tried to persuade him but he didn't agree. Sameer had also tried to rekindle their lost friendship once again but Arjun was not responding this time. May be he had actually given up on him.
After these incidents many a times Sameer invited him to his place for lunch or dinner. Many a times he called him to accompany them to Rajasthan but all these went in vain. But today Sameer was actually surprised when Arjun agreed to come for dinner without much hesitation.
So he didn't leave any stones unturned in welcoming and for the guest welfare of Arjun. The three of them had their dinner reminiscing old times. Both Shree And Sameer thought everything is okay now. And once it was time to leave Sameer again tried to stop Arjun, but he made a shocking revelation.
He informed that he is leaving tomorrow. First it appeared to be a holiday which he needed but then he said he is going tomorrow and is never going to come back. Both were shocked beyond belief and couldn't repond to anything.
Seeing them sad Arjun came forward and hugged them for one last time and left from there lives forever.
