                Part – 69

At Hoshiarpur….

Later that evening…..

Geet goes to their house to stay for the night after dinner…

Geet is shocked to see the house lit up…

Someone is there… has anyone occupied their house without her knowledge…

No, the sarpanch won’t let anyone do that…

What if someone stayed there only at night?

Geet is a little scared to go there… but it’s her home…

She gathers all her courage and goes near the house…

To her surprise the door is open…

Who has the guts to leave the door open?

Even if someone is staying, they won’t keep the door open…

Geet cautiously sneaks in…

Geet is reminded of her childhood….

She can’t stop her tears… suddenly she spots someone…

There’s a guy upstairs searching for something…

Is it a thief? Doesn’t he know that he won’t get anything in a deserted house?

Geet decides to go out and call for help…

Just then that person sees Geet…

“Geeeeet, Geeeet, tum kahan thi?”

It’s MSK… he had come in search of her after knowing from Adi that she is here…

How can he stay back after knowing that Geet has gone to Hoshiarpur?

Maan knows very well what she will do, she will think about the past and keep crying… she just knows only that …. Haina?

Maan comes down rushing… like he was thinking Geet is standing there with her eyes wet…

Maan keeps watching her not knowing what to do with her…

However hard he may try, he can’t stop her from doing what she wants… even if that is only going to hurt her…

Geet runs towards him and surrenders on his broad shoulders…

Thank God! she has some faith left in him…. As a friend at least….

Geet keeps sobbing…

Maan just hugs her tight and says nothing…

He doesn’t ask her anything, it’s already understood, he knows her in and out…

He just wants to assure her that he is here for her and she need not worry about anything when he is there ..

Whenever Geet falls and gets hurt, she runs to Darji and surrenders herself just like this…

For if she went to her mother or father, they would start blaming her right away for being careless and would question her about what happened to find fault with her…

But Darji would hug her and console her… he would blame the wooden table which was on the way or that thorn that was on the ground, for what happened and not Geet…

Geet has found Darji’s replacement in Maan…

But she has screwed up everything, this solace that she has finally got is only temporary….

The very thought scares her and she backs off from his hold….

Maan is confused, maybe she thought that it was her father, and now she has realized that it’s actually Maan…

Maan doesn’t complain, he knows that she would never ever trust him…

Maan: what are you doing here Geet?

Geet: ye kaise sawaal hai?

Maan: tum yahan kyun aayi ho Geet? Woh bhi iss waqt akhele?

Geet: this is my home

Maan wants to tell her that this was your home you stupid girl, your home is now KM….

Maan: I know, but why are you here all of a sudden?

Geet is afraid that Maan would get angry if she told the truth…

Maan has strictly prohibited her from getting into this mess….

Geet: mujhe Darji ki bahut yaad aaya tha, issiliye

Maan: how long would you hold on to everything you lost like this? You have to let it go and accept the truth, they are gone and will never return, samjhi tum?

Maan tells her that aloud, he is really fed up with her never ending stories of the past, she herself has become like a ghost of the past, come on girl, can’t you see what’s there in real for once?

Geet: it’s not that easy

Maan: stop going backwards and start looking forward Geet, it’s not going to do anything good

Maan can’t control his anger anymore, he just bursts out… he yells at the top of his voice and Geet is scared to see if his sudden outburst, but she needs a reality check badly…

How Maan wished that Geet has seen the life with Maan that was waiting for her?

But no, she was so blinded by her grief and insecurities that she failed to embrace her happiness when Maan offered it to her…. And on top of that she blamed MSK for her no existent problems…

She is so used to pain that she finds comfort in it… that’s why she keeps hurting herself…

Geet: what’s there to look forward to?

Maan: you are losing your present in this useless search of the past? No one can change the past Geet but one can change the future, najaane kab tumme ye baat samajh mein aayega?

Maan curses himself for not being able to stay away from unwanted things…

Even if Maan couldn’t be a part of Geet’s future, he would only wish her future to be happy, for that Geet has to change, there is no other way…

What’s wrong with Maan? Haven’t he learnt his lessons yet? Why would he bother about Geet anymore?

But, that’s the reality, Maan can’t change himself and how could he expect Geet to change?

How foolish of himself? Maan thinks that he too has become insane now …

Geet: that’s why I’m here

Maan: what? You want to stay here?

Geet: no, I just wanted to come here

Maan: you can come and stay here and do whatever you want, I don’t care, but you have to be there in Delhi for the wedding, don’t you understand?

Geet: I know, I am not going to stay here

Maan: whatever, you are coming back with me tomorrow, don’t try to escape

Maan warns her strictly….

Geet: I have some work

Maan: your work can wait till the wedding is over

Geet: you don’t understand

Maan: I’m really fed up trying to understand you Geet, now I don’t want to understand anything, just be ready to go back in the morning

Geet: ok

They stay there for the night…

Geet sleeps in Darji’s room while Maan sleeps in the hall in front of the room…

He doesn’t want to take any risk…

Geet couldn’t sleep well, she keeps thinking about how she has ruined her wonderful life with Maan with her own hands…

Maan also has lost his sleep long back…

He just wishes he had never met Geet… his life would have been a lot more easier then…
