Prerna woke up after sometime in her room to find her mother sitting next to him. 

“Mr Bajaj?” Prerna and she tried to get up but sat down again holding her head in pain.

“Mr Bajaj theek hain, Maine kaha tha tujhse kuch khale. Tune meri baat nahin mani. Kuch ho jata to” Veena Sharma

“Maine jaan muchke nahin kiya woh bas kab aankh lag gayi pata bhi nahin chala. Mr Bajaj kaise hain aur Kukki aayi thi unse milne usne sab dekha hoga. Kukki kaha hain?” Prerna. Just then Kukki entered the room with Mr Mehra. 

“Kukki”Prerna looking directly at her. The little girl ran and hugged her tightly. 

“Aap theek hoon?” Kukki

“Pehle mujhe batao aap theek hain? Aur Mumma bilkul theek hain woh bas aise hi. Aur papa papa bhi bilkul theek hain. He is fine” Prerna. Kissing her hands. Kukki wiped away her tears.

“I know I know” Kukki. Prerna nodded and both hugged each other crying. “Main main aapko batane wali thi lekin maine socha once he wakes up main bata dungi.” Prerna and Kukki hugged her more tightly.

“Papa se milna hain.” Kukki.

“Kukki aap? Woh hosh main aa jayenge na thode theek ho jaye main le chalungi. Aap nahin dekh paogi meri khudki halat dekho. Aise man karta hain ki unhe shake karke bolu ki abhi ke abhi utho nahin to Sneha aur Kukki ko leke Sharma Niwas chali jaungi” Prerna. This got a faint smile from both Prerna and Kukki. 

“I will be fine, I will be fine. I promise. Please.”Kukki. Finally Prerna gave in and  Prerna and Kukki together went into the room holding each other's hands. Doctors were checking him. 

“He is fine now. He will be fine in just a few more hours. ICU main only one person can stay. Please let the person rest.” Doctor.

“Kukki bas unse mil ke chali jayegi. 5 mins.” Prerna

“Please” Kukki. Doctor nodded and went out after some time. They both went near Mr bajaj each one standing on one side. Kukki carefully gave a kiss on his cheeks.

“Love you papa and Sneha is about to turn the house upside down if she doesn't talk to you. Please wake up.” Kukki. Prerna was sitting next to him on the other side. She kissed his free hand and held on it. Kukki went next to her and put her hand on both of theirs. “We will be ok.” Prerna. Kukki nodded, hugging her and holding her hands. They sat like that for some hours and were taken out of their thoughts by Mr Mehra.

“Mam you both should go home. Mam Please. Fresh hoke aa jaiye and I will stay here.” Mr Mehra. Kukki looked at Prerna and nodded. 

“I know Mr Mehra what you are trying to say but I want to be here. I want to be here when he wakes up. Please. I am fine. I will take care of myself. He will be awake by today and then I will come home.” Prerna

“Ok. Don’t worry about Sneha ok I will take care of her and Tushar also.” Kukki.

“Acha aur aapka kaun rakhega?” Prerna.

“I will be ok. Muscles dekhe hain Mrs Bajaj.” Kukki. Prerna nodded and hugged her. After sometime she gave another kiss to Mr bajaj hugged Prerna and ran towards the door. Mr Mehra came back after sometime dropping Kukki and Veena Sharma to the car.

“Mr Mehra aapko pata chala ki news bahar kaise gayi.” Prerna

“Mam woh?” Mr Mehra

“Mr mehra?” Prerna

“It was tipped by some sources from Basu Publications.” Mr Mehra

“Why am I not surprised?” Prerna

“Aap press ki fikar mat kijiye maine press main statement de diya hain and I have made sure ki it doesn’t do more damage” Mr Mehra

“OK. Miss Sarkar ki bail ka kya hua? Aur enquiry aur custody case ka  kya hoga ” prerna

“Inquiry and custody case to kuch dino ke liye postpone ho gayi hain, maine khud baat ki hain considering his medical condition. Rahin baat Miss Sarkar ki Mam political pressure bahut jyada hain. Elections ki wajah se logo ko yeh case ke roop main ek gift mil gaya hain. They are hell bent on stretching it.” Mr mehra

“Aapne Mr Sengupta se baat ki, maybe we can convince him” Prerna

“Maine aur Mr Bajaj dono ne ki thi but already Mr Siddhant Choubey is making too much hoopla regarding this. This is his ticket to elections. ” Mr Mehra

“Haan to bail allow karde media main aise hi chilate rahin they are as it is going to shout no matter what” Prerna

“Agreed but Mr Siddhant Choubey se deal karega kaun. Upar se Mr Bose had joined hands with him and he won't let this happen.” Mr Mehra

“This is all such a mess. I just don't know what to do. Ok but I will still try and talk with Mr Sengupta once and maybe we can work something out. Also try and find out what we can do out of the box” Prerna

“Main samjha nahi mam” Mr mehra

“jis tarah se Mr bajaj ki medical reports ke basis main enquiry postpone maybe medical issues dekha ke ya kuch agar hum unki bail karwa sake. I know I know this is wrong and this all sounds so bad but Tushar woh day after day sahamta ja raha hain. He is getting more and more scared and silent. I am scared for him.” Prerna

“Theek hain let me see what I can do” Mr Mehra

It was almost evening and still Mr bajaj hadn't woken up. Doctors kept checking him and they were sure that he would wake up and his vitals were strong. Around evening Mr mehra came to the room.

“Mrs bajaj” Mr Mehra

“Haan Mr Mehra” Prerna

“Mam woh MrBose ka phone aaya tha” Mr Mehra

“Ab kya chahiye unhe?” Prerna

“Woh Mr bajaj ke bare main puch rahin the. In Fact he also came in the morning. He was a bit concerned. He wants to take the custody case back” Mr mehra

“What!!!!” Prerna

“That is what he said” Mr Mehra

“I don't believe this there is something there that we don't know”Prerna

“Paata nahi he also said that he wants to come and see Mr bajaj once. He seemed genuine.” Mr Mehra

“Mujhe unse koi baat nahin karni ahin lekin agar woh ek baar milna chahte hain to its ok. Mujhe koi problem nahin hain bula lijiye unhe.” Prerna was thinking about something but she needed to be careful. Mr Mehra nodded. 

Mr. Bose came to meet them after some time. Prerna did a namaste and Mr bose nodded.

“Ab kaisa hain?” Mr Bose

“Out of danger but the next 24 hours are crucial.” Prerna. Mr Bose went and sat near his bed for sometime while Prerna let him be for sometime. 

“5 mins ke liye beth ke nahin reh sakta tha. Kuch na kuch karna tha ise. Ek baar fishing pe gaye that was the only time I have ever seen him silent.” Mr Bose. He turned towards Prerna and said “He will be ok and he is a fighter.” Prerna nodded. 

“Prerna, can we talk. Please just five mins” Mr Bose

“Mr Bose please not today. I don't have the patience for this considering the kind of day I have had. Please” Prerna

“Please Prerna bas 5 mins aaj nahin bol paonga to kal himmat nahi hogi meri.” Mr Bose. Prerna realised that he did seem genuine and nodded. He looked towards Mr Mehra and Prerna nodded towards him and he went out for some time. 

“Prerna I am sorry. I am so very very sorry. Main bas main yeh sab nahin chahta tha lekin bas cheezein hoti gayi aur mujhe kuch nazar nahi aa raha tha. Maine Menaka ke saath bahut sari galtiyan ki thi aur mujhe laga jaise Kukki ke saath wahi sab tum log kar rahin hoon and I lost it. I am sorry. Main yeh sab nahin karna chahta tha mujhe yeh sab nahin karna chahiye tha. I am truly sorry.” Mr. Bose. Prerna knew something was going on but she had learned that much about how and when to stay in control as she had something in mind and this needed to be tread carefully. So She just nodded. Mr. Bose was kind of surprised and didn't say anything. He had literally expected that Prerna would start crying and telling him not to say such things and it would be a breeze but it turned out to be more difficult. 

“Thank you Mr Bose, I understand” Prerna. Mr Bose knew he couldn't give up so he went on.

“Tum aur Rishab Kukki ka bahut ache se khayal rakh rahin hain. In Fact she has a more amazing environment than I thought. She is very happy and I don't want to take the happiness away I have realized so I have taken the custody case back. Mehra ne to bata diya hoga tumhe” Mr Bose

“Ji unhone ne mujhe bataye. Thank you for that again and acknowledging that” Prerna. Mr bose was not cursing himself how he had so misjudged her. 

“Rahi baat us scam ki Prerna ki I cant I cant do anything right now. Main jaanta hoon yeh problem meri wajah se hui hai but I am not able to take it back. But I have alerted my sources and they are trying to find Vaibhav and then we can fix this maybe.” Mr Bose

“Ok. Mr bose kya chahiye aapko.” Prerna. Mr Bose was surprised. 

“Aap return main itna kuch de rahin hain what is the investment you are looking for” Prena. Mr Bose realised that he had lost the last 3 rounds and he really underestimated her and he needed to change his approach and come clean. 

“OK Prerna lets keep it simple in kuch dino main jo kuch bhi hua hain main yeh to samajh gaya hoon ki Kukki ko agar main is tarah le bhi gaya woh mujhse nafrat karegi I will be making the same mistakes again. So I am backing out. I don’t want to lose her and that is why I am going back.” Mr Bose. Prerna was confused.

“Prerna main kuch dino main wapis Delhi chala jaonga and I will not interfere with your life and I reckon ki Rishi aur tumlog bhi mujhe nahin dekhna chahoge but if I can just for somedays stay with Kukki agar main uske saath reh sako” Mr bose

“Agar aapko lagata hain main Kukki ko aapke saath jane dungi to aisa nahin hoga” Prerna

“Nahin nahin you misunderstood me. Bajaj mansion main hi. You know kuch din uske saath rehna chahta hoon uske saath woh sab karna chahta hoon jo main Menaka ke saath nahin kar paya. You know, help her with homework, play games with her, listen to her chatter and …. Bas kuch din. I promise mein kuch issue create nahi karunga I will try and keep it simple. I promise. I just want to feel what it was like to be a parent.  Please kuch dino ke liye” Mr Bose. Prerna for the first time thought that he seems genuine and maybe just maybe he is telling the truth but she just can't.

“I am sorry Mr Bose I know what you are saying is true and you are genuinely sorry but I can't” Prerna. Mr. Bose lost his patience. 

“Come on Prerna. Maine apni galti mani main sab kuch karne ko taiyaar hoon tumhare samne khada hoon tumse permission le raha hoon. Custody case wapis le liya. I am trying to fix everything and you are behaving this way. What have I asked for that I want to spend some time with Kukki kya ho jayega?” Mr bose

“Mr Bose mujhe koi problem nahin hain agar aap kuch time spend karna chhte hain kukki ke saaath. Main khud use beech beech main bhej dungi aapke pass lekin Bajaj mansion main nahin. jis tarah aap kuch bhi karne ko taiyar hain wiase hi kisi aur ne bhi bina kuch soche sab kuch kiya Mr bajaj ke liye and unka naam Miss Kalyani Sarkar hain jo jail main hain aur unka beta Tushar hamare ghar mian hain. Kalyaniji ne bharosa karke Tushar ko mujhe sopa hain I am taking you into the same house and near her son without her permission and I am pretty sure she won't allow.” Prerna. Mr Bose chuckled. 

“As always you are more concerned about everybody else than Kukki.” Mr Bose. Prerna was surprised. 

“Aur nahin to kya you do realise ki this means that you don't have to worry about custody case you might not be losing Kukki. But all you are concerned about is Tushar and Kalyani.” Mr Bose

“Mr bose mujhe court main characterless sabit karne se aap yeh case nahin jeetenge.” Prerna. Mr Bose was about to say something but Prerna stopped him. 

“Main aapko blame nahin kar rahin jisne kaha uski galti hain, lekin Custody case abhi bhi hum jeet sakte hain aur jeetenge time lagega but we will get there anyhow together. Maine har kisi ke samne jhukna chod diya hain. Ladna seekh liya hain maine and that too from the best. Rahi baat scam ki woh yeh hain sambhal lange.” nodding towards Rishab. “Aap apne student se zaroor harenge I promise. Lekin apni khushi ke liye I will not run over someone elses. Never and I am pretty sure agar Rishab meri jagah hote to woh bhi yehi kehte.” Prerna

“Prerna. Main koshish kar raha hoon ab mujhe Vaibhav nahin mil raha hoon to main kaise us scam ko vanish karo.” Mr Bose giving up. 

“All I want is Miss Sarkar released even if she is on bail so that Tushar can be with her until she is released. She is with Tushar. I am not agreeing to this.” Prerna

“What do you want from me Prerna” Mr Bose

“Aap jaante hain Mr.Bose. You already know.” Prerna

“I underestimated you didnt’ I' Mr Bose. 

“Good night Mr Bose”Prerna folded her hands giving a cue that Mr bose should leave and she had already made her decision. Mr Bose left from there. After sometime Mr Mehra came in. Prerna told him everything. Mr Mehra again sat with his mouth open.

“Puri ki puri family aise hain, apne inhe bhi sikha diya” Mr Mehra thought looking at Mr Bajaj. But this might fail Kukki’s plan.

“Muh band kijiye Mr Mehra” Prerna

“Mam maybe you should have agreed this will completely fail Kuk…” Mr Mehra stopped.

“Kukki????” Prerna

“Nahin kuch nahin kuch bhi nahin. I just mean ki kukki.” Mr Mehra stopped midway fearing what he was about to say.

“Mujhe pata hai what you are scared of? Kukki” Prerna. Mr Mehra got scared and confused.

“Main kuch samjha nahi” Mr Mehra

“Kukki ko manane main problem hogi but agar Miss Sarkar is released. Kukki Tushar se bahut attached ho gayi hain. She will understand. Haan jab yeh uthenge tab unhe acha na lage but right now this is the best that I can think of. ” Prerna

“Of Course” Mr Mehra

“Mr Mehra also hamara ko dusra bungalow hain near the convent garden use theek thak karwa dijiye and make sure everything is okay over there. Miss Sarkar aur Tushar wahi par rahenge.” Prerna

“Mam he might not agree” Mr Mehra

“Oh he will. He will be living with us tom and probably Kukki will get him to colour her entire solar system.” Prerna. Mr Mehra just nodded and smiled.
