Hola
readers! Yo Mr. DJ is back on the floor once again, with an exciting and
unique collection of duets of all times. Over the years, the Indian
film Industry has given us numerous legendary singer, who have put their
soul into their music. To name a few, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle,
Udit Narayan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are internationally recognized
voices from India. They have entertained us for decades now, and
continue to set the benchmark for all the new talent. However, along
with the golden senior singers, we also have a very talented crop in the
form of the next generation of singers, who with their soulful singing
have managed to make a place of their own alongside the singing legends
of Bollywood. And when you combine both the experienced maestros and the
fresh voices, you get some of the best music of the industry! Taking
this opportunity, BollyCurry brings to you a duet of old and new
singers, and their collaboration.
Lata Mangeshkar and Sonu Niigam - Veer Zaara
"Do Pal
Ruka Khwabon Ka Karwa, Phir Chal Diye, Tum Kahan Hum Kahaan". This
legendary song is perhaps one of the most heart touching songs the music
industry has ever produced. The soft vocals of Lata Mangeshkar and Sonu
Niigam really seem to resonate in your heart and leave you in a mellow
haze. This legendary song from the blockbuster movie Veer Zara,
picturized on ShahRukh Khan and Preity Zinta, made waves upon its
release. The Nightingale of India and the Man of Many Voices created
magic with their soulful rendition in this piece. It couldn't have been
done better, and the audience awaits for yet another soulful single from
the duo.
The duet
of Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghosal began with the latter's debut song in
the film fraternity "Bairi Piya". The romantic number from the movie Devdas was
loved by one and all. At this point, everyone was in awe with Narayan's
voice. But it was Shreya Ghoshal who won hearts with her innocent, yet
very musical, voice. The song was picturized on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
and Shahrukh Khan, and the vocal qualities of Narayan and Ghoshal really
brought the song alive. Since that day, the duo have stood strong and
collaborated on numerous songs together and managed to produce one
brilliant piece after the other.
"Jag
Soona Soona Laage.. Jag Soona Soona Lage Re". This song is perhaps one
of the most heart wrenching songs in the past few decades. The
combination of the soulful Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and high pitched Richa
Sharma was the perfect thing needed to carry the beautiful lyrics to the
deepest layers of your heart. Their voices really compliment each
other, and when they come together, especially with strong lyrics such
as these, no one can stop them from creating a masterpiece.
Asha
Bhosle is one of the most melodious voices in the industry and "Rangeela
Re" is one of her best creations! She sung perfectly throughout the
song, leaving you feeling light and happy. The addition of young Aditya
Narayan's adorable voice makes you smile as it gives the perfect amount
of kick to the song. Urmila Matondkar is seen dancing her way through
the song, giving Asha Ji's voice a whole new meaning. The duet was
unique, yet very enjoyable and we wish to hear a new collaboration soon.
The slow
romantic number "O Saathi Re" is sung in the melodious voices of Shreya
Ghoshal and Vishal Bhardwaj. Their vocals really blend well in this
collaboration, taking the listener to another level. What completes the
song in every sense is Gulzaar's soothing lyrics, making this song one
of the ultimate romantic numbers of all times. This is Bhardwaj and
Ghoshal's only duet till date, but we are eagerly waiting for another
song, so they can once again bring magic to our ears.
And
with this we come to an end with our shortlisted collaborations of
duets. The above list tells us that music doesn't need any age, and when
you combine golden singers with fresh talent you end up with some
unique songs. Have you ever had the opportunity to listen to these
amazing duets? If not go ahead and play then, and tell us, which duet is
your favorite and whom you would want to hear again.
