In tonight's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai episode, Abhira is seen trying to divert her mind from the turmoil within. She pleads with Akshara to ask God why both she and Shivani were taken away from her. Vidya reminds Abhira that she still has a mother and encourages her to persuade Armaan to continue the legacy of the Poddar law firm. However, Abhira says that she cannot compel Armaan to make such a decision. Vidya counters by asking if she doesn't wish to see Armaan advance in his profession. Abhira maintains that Armaan is already on a stable path. But Vidya remains adamant, convinced that Armaan will eventually return to the firm.
Meanwhile, Sanjay suggests to Kaveri that she consider including Abhira and Armaan's child in her will. Kaveri flatly refuses, showing no interest in accepting their baby into the family's legacy. Sanjay hints that the baby's arrival might soften her heart. But Kaveri insists that once the baby is born, both Armaan and Abhira will distance themselves from the family anyway. She tells Sanjay to stop expecting anything from them, adding that their focus is solely on the child
Abhira finds herself lost in thought, overwhelmed by the fear that they might have unknowingly placed too much emotional responsibility on Ruhi by involving her in the surrogacy decision. As her anxiety builds, she starts fidgeting with a cushion. In her restlessness, she accidentally tears it slightly and begins pulling out the rui—the soft cotton inside—without realizing what she’s doing. A flicker of panic crosses her face as the scattered rui reflects her internal chaos.
Armaan notices her troubled state and softly walks over, pointing towards the rui. But Abhira, emotionally overwhelmed and momentarily confused, misinterprets his gesture. She looks at him, startled, and asks why he’s calling her Ruhi. She insists, “Main Ruhi nahi, Abhira hoon.” Armaan quickly clears up the confusion, explaining that he was talking about the rui, not her. Realizing the mix-up, Abhira apologizes and begins tidying up the mess she just created.
Armaan, sensing her restlessness, asks if she even managed to sleep last night. He gently wonders whether she spent the entire night sitting beside Ruhi. Abhira confirms she didn’t sleep at all. Armaan then asks if she had been worrying about Ruhi the whole time.
Opening up, Abhira expresses her concern about burdening Ruhi with the responsibility of surrogacy. She says Ruhi is already dealing with her own emotional grief and has Daksh to care for as well. On top of that, they’ve now entrusted her with something as delicate as Pookie. Abhira fears that managing all of it alone might be too much for her.
Armaan explains that Ruhi was never meant to go through this journey by herself—Rohit’s sudden departure changed everything. But Abhira reminds him that now, Rohit is no longer by her side. She asks him to consider the possibility—what if something goes wrong during the delivery? She says Ruhi is currently emotionally fragile and not in the best state for this.
Ruhi overhears their conversation and steps in, clearly hurt. She questions Abhira—does she really believe she isn’t strong enough to carry out the pregnancy? Abhira responds honestly, saying it’s not about doubt but the reality that handling such an immense responsibility alone is difficult, especially after experiencing such a heartbreaking loss.
Ruhi, struggling to keep her composure, says she doesn’t want to discuss the topic further because every time she talks about it, she ends up crying—and in doing so, she fails to see the people who are right in front of her, supporting her. She acknowledges that Daksh and the baby are important to all of them, but for Rohit, Pookie was his whole world. That’s why, she says, she has to take care of them. She adds that she wants to do it—for herself, for Abhira, and most importantly, for Rohit. And who knows, maybe when she sees the two little ones smiling, she might smile again too.
Ruhi firmly reassures Abhira not to worry. She reminds her that choosing surrogacy was her decision. But Abhira gently corrects her, saying it was a decision she and Rohit had made together. Feeling emotional, Abhira apologizes for placing such a huge responsibility on her shoulders during a time when she’s already struggling.
Ruhi then teases her, asking if she’s really calling Rohit’s dream, his Pookie, a "tough responsibility." She says if Rohit were around to hear that, he’d definitely be upset. She recalls how emotional he would get whenever he talked about Pookie, and how much it meant to him that Armaan and Abhira would get the happiness of becoming parents. She questions why, of all people, they are the ones doubting the decision now. With a determined smile, she tells them to be ready—because this baby is definitely on its way.
Emotion fills the room as Abhira hugs Ruhi tightly, thanking her from the bottom of her heart. But Ruhi, in turn, expresses her gratitude to Abhira for trusting her with something so meaningful.
As Armaan quietly tries to step away from the emotional moment, Abhira stops him, holding his hand and asking him how long he intends to keep living with guilt. Ruhi steps in, reminding him that he had done everything possible to save both Shivani and Rohit. But Armaan responds, saying he didn't die.
Hearing this, Abhira snaps, scolding him for saying something so senseless and for constantly punishing himself over things that were never in his control. Later, the conversation ends on a hopeful note as Abhira, Armaan, and Ruhi come together and reaffirm their support for one another.
Later, Armaan questions Abhira about why she isn't going to her new job. She reveals that her position was on a trial basis, and since she didn't agree to join immediately, they terminated her. Armaan feels disheartened, but Abhira asks him not to burden himself with guilt and urges him to focus on his career instead.
Vidya then intervenes, questioning why Armaan is being pushed into business when he is naturally gifted as a lawyer. Armaan firmly refuses to return to the firm, explaining that Kaveri never valued Shivani when she was alive and created more rifts after her passing. He calls Kaveri self-centered. Madhav then steps in, reminding everyone that the firm originally belonged to his father and criticizes Kaveri's actions. This confrontation leads to a surprising moment—Kaveri finally expresses her desire for Armaan to rejoin the family firm. Both Armaan and Abhira are stunned by her sudden change of heart.
Precap for the next episode:
In the precap, Vidya brings out Rohit's lawyer's robe and asks Armaan to wear it, wanting him to step into his late brother's role at the firm. Abhira silently disagrees, thinking it's unfair to pressure Armaan into such a decision.
