Bigg Boss 19 has kicked off with a mix of familiar faces and lesser-known names. Among the contestants is Pranit More, a figure who may not instantly ring a bell for everyone but has an interesting backstory. For fans who’ve followed comedy circuits or radio, his entry into the house brings a familiar personality into a very different setting.
More isn’t just a comedian. He has worn many hats-radio jockey, corporate professional, stand-up artist, and content creator. His path into the limelight has been anything but straightforward. Here’s how he got here.
Early Years and Career Dreams
Pranit More was born in a family from Khed in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, though he grew up and built his career in Mumbai. As a child, he was fascinated by airplanes and once dreamed of becoming a commercial pilot. His initial attempt to pursue this career didn’t pan out as he failed to secure admission into a piloting course. Instead, he briefly studied aircraft maintenance engineering but left after about six months.
Education and First Jobs

After his early setbacks, More focused on academics, completing a Bachelor of Management Science degree followed by an MBA in marketing. During his studies, he also discovered a love for sketching and doodling, a hobby he continues to enjoy.
His first professional experience was far removed from the entertainment space. Between 2013 and 2015, he worked as a sales assistant at an automobile showroom. Once he completed his MBA, he began rethinking his options, exploring where his creative instincts could take him.
The Comedy Breakthrough
It was during his post-graduation years that More stumbled into comedy. While in the final year of his MBA, he participated in the Canvas Laugh competition, a popular stand-up contest. To his surprise, he won. That victory gave him the confidence to pursue comedy seriously rather than treat it as a hobby.
Radio Jockey and Content Creator

Even as he dabbled in stand-up, Pranit’s career took another turn. He landed a position as a radio jockey with Mirchi FM. For nearly four years, he balanced roles as both a content creator and an RJ. His witty style, improvisational skills, and ability to connect with listeners made him a known voice on the airwaves.
But radio wasn’t enough. Eventually, he left the job to fully embrace stand-up comedy and independent performances.
Building a Stand-Up Career
After stepping away from the radio booth, More focused entirely on the stage. He developed solo shows like Baap Ko Mat Sikha and Back Bencher, which allowed him to showcase his personal storytelling and observational humor. With these performances, he carved out his space in India’s growing stand-up scene.
A Violent Setback

Earlier in 2025, More made headlines for reasons unrelated to his comedy. After performing in Solapur, Maharashtra, he was attacked by a group of men who claimed to be angered by a joke he allegedly made about actor Veer Pahariya, grandson of politician Sushilkumar Shinde. Reports stated that around a dozen men posed as fans before physically assaulting him, leaving him injured.
Following the incident, Veer Pahariya issued a public statement distancing himself from the violence. He condemned the attack, denied any involvement, and even apologized to More. Despite that, the incident sparked outrage across the comedy community. Artists like Munawar Faruqui, Kunal Kamra, Mallika Dua, and Ishitta Arun came forward to support Pranit and demanded action against the attackers.
From Headlines to Bigg Boss
The Solapur incident unexpectedly thrust Pranit into national conversation. Known primarily among comedy audiences and radio listeners, he suddenly found himself the subject of mainstream news. That visibility, combined with his growing reputation as a performer, likely paved the way for his selection in Bigg Boss 19.
Entering the reality show marks another turning point in his unconventional journey. What began as childhood dreams of flying planes shifted to corporate jobs, then radio, then comedy, and now mainstream reality television.
Looking Ahead
In the unpredictable environment of the Bigg Boss house, Pranit More faces a different kind of stage. Here, it won’t just be about punchlines or monologues but about surviving alliances, tasks, and confrontations. Whether his humor and resilience win over audiences remains to be seen, but his backstory ensures viewers now know exactly who he is and why he matters in this season’s lineup.
Pranit More’s journey has been anything but ordinary. From dreaming of flying planes to selling cars, hosting radio shows, winning comedy stages, and even surviving a shocking assault, he has worn many hats. Now, the stand-up artist takes on a new challenge inside Bigg Boss 19. Curious about his story? Here’s everything you need to know.
