Vatsal Sheth is known as the blue-eyed boy of the entertainment industry. The handsome hunk wooed the audience with his stint in projects like Just Mohabbat and Tarzan- The Wonder Car. Vatsal was looked upon as the chocolate boy and the boy-next-door. The actor then decided to break that image and take up unconventional roles. He played the baddie in Star Plus’ show ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ which made him win a lot of applause. From Shaurya Goenka’s swag to his patent whistle, everything about the character was quite appreciated.
India Forums got in touch with the actor and spoke to him about his image transformation, in a candid chat he said, “People used to perceive me as the goodie-goodie guy in positive roles and that’s when I decided to take up risks in my career and did ‘Ek Haseena Thi’. Initially, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to pull that role off, but I did and people loved that character. Ever since then, I’m only trying to experiment with different roles in my career. I played a ghost in a web series titled Gehraiyaan which was again quite appreciated. So, yes, I basically love to experiment and take up contrasting characters. I recently did a photoshoot and experimented with my looks. The result was quite impressive. I was surprised looking at my own pictures”.
We asked him about his preferred platform among TV, Bollywood, or OTT, the actor said, “I believe TV, movies, digital medium; everything is becoming one. Content is the most important thing. It can be on any medium; as long as the story is gripping and the character offered is decent, I don’t mind taking it up. Off late, we don’t have a hero-heroine kind of a concept anymore; it's all character-driven and that’s quite interesting. As an actor, I don’t alter my performance as per the medium I’m working for. I’ve worked in all the mediums and I would love to be a part of great shows delivering great performances, hence the medium doesn’t really matter for me”.
