Vaquar Shaikh says that today’s generation of actors are very sure of the work they want to do, and do it well. He says that they are comfortable with competition and are prepared to take it head on.
“The younger generation is exposed to knowledge and information at an earlier age, but it's not exclusive to today's generation. Actors who have recently entered the industry are intelligent, mature, and well-prepared. They are highly competitive, know their goals, and come prepared. So, it's commendable that they are well-equipped with information beyond just their craft,” he says.
Ask him what kind of web series he wants to do, and he says, “I would like to delve into something from old Mumbai, like the 1960s or 70s when Mumbai used to be Bombay. I really liked that era, with its hint of hippie culture. So, that era was pretty interesting. I have seen shows depicting that time on TV. For example, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, and another show called Jubilee starring Aparshakti Khurana and Vamika Gabbi. It is about the film industry in the 1940s. Right now, I'm watching Mamla Legal Hai, and I really like it. It's a very light-hearted show starring Ravi Kishan, with simple episodes reminiscent of Panchayat. It's interesting and nice. I highly recommend these two shows.”
