TV Actress Arrested in Rs 15 Lakh Extortion Case

Marathi TV actress Sara Shrawan, also known as Sara Sonawane was arrested by Pune Police’s Crime Branch in connection with an extortion case of Rs 15 lakh. A complaint was filed by a fellow actor named, Subhash Yadav after which the actress was untraceable and had also shifted base to Dubai for the last seven months, said an official.

Reportedly, Shrawan is one of the four accused in the case. She worked with Yadav, who is an aspiring actor and then filed a molestation case against him post their film’s release.

Speaking to India Today, Jayant Jadhav, Investigating Officer, said, "Subhash Yadav had registered an extortion case on April 10, 2019, at Sahakar Nagar Police Station in Pune. After investigation and examining the evidence given by the complainant, three accused were arrested in the month of April 2019. But the fourth accused Sara was untraceable."

He added, “One of the accused Ram Jagdale tried to broker a settlement, as part of which Yadav recorded a video apologising for his actions. The accused demanded Rs 15 lakh from Yadav in return for not making the video public.However, another woman actor leaked the video after which Yadav approached the police and filed an extortion case. Sara Shrawan alias Sara Sonawane was held from Lower Parel in Mumbai on Saturday after her anticipatory bail was rejected by a Pune court."
