Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma on entering Dhruv Tara

Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma, who earned immense popularity for playing the role of Chanda in 'Chand Jalne Laga' is set to enter Sony Sab’s 'Dhruv Tara' a romantic drama that revolves around Dhruv (Ishaan Dhawan) and Tara (Riya Sharma), who are from two different eras.

The show is produced by Shashi Mittal and Sumeet Mittal under the banner of Shashi Sumeet Productions.

Informs a source, Shubhi who was last seen in the TV show 'Aaina-Roop Nahi Haqikat Bhi Dikhaye' and also played a cameo role in 'Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjaana' will enter the show to bless Tara and her baby. She will belong from 21st century and will be protecting Tara's child. The show will showcase the importance of transgender community.

Confirming the news Shubhi said, "I'm happy to enter the show. I'm looking forward to explore this new journey. I started my shoots and loving my look. I won't be able to comment on my character or the story as of now. But yes soon my audience will see me on screen."

She continued to highlight how transgenders are welcomed for blessings but still they live a struggling life.

She continued, "We transgenders are considered sacred, and whenever people have a wedding or child birth in their home, we go and bless the family. We are believed to have been endowed with such a power that our blessings can truly bring happiness in a family. We are considered to bring fertility luck and prosperity. But apart from that the reality is different at times. Our rights have been long suppressed, overlooked and to be precise have been ignored all the while. On one hand we are considered lucky and well wishers, on the other we are banished from society because the society is till date tapped in their own double standard hypocrisy. We are physically at times humiliated, exploited and tortured. Our families dont accept us. Life is not easy if you belong to this community but for sure you learn to live happily."

Shubhi is known for featuring in shows like 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', 'Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2', 'Saavi Ki Savaari', 'Nath', 'Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani' among others.
