In a no-holds-barred conversation with Mirchi Plus, singer and composer Amaal Mallik has stirred the pot with bold claims about the inner workings of Bollywood. Speaking from a place of pain and personal experience, Amaal opened up about how the industry, known for its glitz and glamour, hides a much darker reality, one that, he believes, cost Sushant Singh Rajput his life and is now trying to push Kartik Aaryan down the same path.
“The public has woken up to the truth,” Amaal said bluntly. “This industry can get so toxic that it breaks people from within.” Referring to the tragic passing of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, Amaal shared that he feels the actor was deeply affected by the people around him and the pressure of the industry. “Whether people call it suicide or murder, at the end of the day, a good man is no longer with us,” he stated.
Amaal didn’t stop there. He went on to say that after Sushant’s death, the common man’s trust in Bollywood took a major hit. “People started seeing through the façade. They began questioning the system and the way good, talented outsiders are treated.”
Turning his attention to Kartik Aaryan, Amaal expressed concern that the same pattern is being repeated. “There are constant efforts to sideline Kartik too,” he claimed. “Big producers, powerful actors, they try to remove him from projects and play power games. But he keeps going, dancing and smiling through it all.”
According to Amaal, it’s Kartik’s family support that keeps him grounded. “His parents are his strength. He’s just like Sushant, a hardworking outsider, trying to make it on his own terms.” Amaal also admitted that he himself has faced similar obstacles in his journey. “They tried to stop me too. But I’ve stayed true to my music and my path.”
The death of Sushant Singh Rajput at just 34 shocked the nation. Found in his Mumbai home, his passing was officially declared a suicide, though conspiracy theories and debates still surround the incident. His story brought mental health, nepotism, and bullying in Bollywood into the spotlight. Now, with Amaal Mallik speaking out, the conversation about how the industry treats outsiders has been reignited, loud and clear.
