2017 has certainly not been a year for good content driven Bollywood films but for our Bollywood actresses, this year has earned them one of their best performances in their career.

This year has been blazingly strong for female leads because now we are able to see a number of strong women characters dominating some of the finest movies of 2017.

1. Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sulu - An actress who with each passing year breaks the standard norms of Bollywood and sets some very good examples is Vidya. In Tumhari Sulu she was a complete package by including the best of emotions in her character.

2. Alia Bhatt in Badrinath Ki Dulhania - Sending out a commendable message of 'Follow your dreams what come may' with her character of Vaidehi Tridevi is what impresses everyone the most. We surely want to see more characters of this kind.

3. Sridevi in Mom - The legendary actress came back and how! Displaying some intense emotions in her fight for revenge made Sridevi's performance an excellent one.

4. Bhumi Pednekar in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha - Effortlessly bringing unnoticed women issues to light in this social drama is what made Bhumi a complete charmer. She skilled with her acting and made every woman travel with her in Bhumi's journey to build a toilet.

5. Zaira Wasim in Secret Superstar - This girl is surely the next superstar after her stint in this film. Her sheer brilliant acting skills have left us asking for more.

6. Kalki Koechlin in Ribbon - Kalki's story of married women who is not ready for parenthood is so real that her character convinces you that it can be your story too. She is comfortable with her character and does a realistic job.
