Actor and host Sonali Bendre recently shared her candid thoughts on the evolving nature of modern relationships. Currently co-hosting Pati Patni Aur Panga on Colors TV alongside comedian Munawar Faruqui, Bendre reflected on how relationship dynamics have changed over the years.

“Someone recently asked me about modern relationships, and they started mentioning all these different terms,” she said. “Honestly, I don’t even know most of them. There seem to be so many now.”

Comparing it with earlier generations, Bendre noted the simplicity of the past. “Back in our parents’ time, things were quite straightforward. There was an engagement, and then there was marriage. You were engaged to be married, and then you became husband and wife.”

She went on to say that even in her own time, the process still followed a clear pattern. “First you were friends, then you started dating, then came the engagement, and finally marriage. At least we could follow that.”

Today, however, she admits the landscape is harder to keep track of. “Now, I’m not even sure what all the terms are anymore. And sometimes I wonder if I even want to know. It might just add more stress, especially when I think about what’s going on in my son’s life.”

Her conclusion was simple: “Honestly, I feel it’s better to let them figure it out on their own. Sometimes, it really is best not to know.”

Pati Patni Aur Panga brings couples together to navigate relationship challenges in a lighthearted, discussion-driven format. Bendre’s perspective adds a generational lens to the conversation, highlighting the growing complexity in how relationships are defined and discussed today.
