Sofia Hayat: What Would I Seek Publicity For…I Do Not Want To Work In Bollywood

When it comes to controversy, Bigg Boss 7 contestant Sofia Hayat has grabbed many headlines owing to her actions. Sofia recently uploaded a picture on her social media handle and landed herself into legal trouble for that.

Sofia uploaded her half-naked picture where she called herself a Naked Goddess. She got slammed for her post for obvious reasons. A resident from Mumbai filed a complaint against her at Cyber Crime Cell. Sofia was accused of hurting religious sentiments. The person on Twitter informed that he has officially filed a complaint against Sofia Hayat for hurting religious sentiments with her post. Following this, the posts were apparently pulled down from her page by Instagram.

Speaking about the same to a leading newspaper, Sofia said, “If you Google Kali Maa, you will find hundreds of pictures of her, nak*d...I took one of those pictures. A lot of people across the world follow me on social media and individuals who file such complaints are going to convey the message that Indians are backward and unintelligent. These people have no respect for Hinduism...they are just seeking publicity using my name. They don’t report hardcore pornography, but have an issue with my devotion.”

Ask her if triggering controversies is her way of being in the limelight and she replies, “People seek publicity only if they are looking for work in showbiz. I have been out of the industry for five years. What am I seeking publicity for? I don’t want to work in Bollywood.”

She further added, “People are abusing me and issuing threats. If I were a man, no one would have had an issue. I plan to report each and everyone, who has used explicit language and threatened me, to Mumbai Police.”
