Singer Dua Lipa says ‘yes’ to Callum Turner, shares intimate engagement details

Dua Lipa has officially confirmed her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, putting an end to months of speculation that began when she was seen wearing a diamond ring during her Christmas Eve post on Instagram. The couple, who began dating in January 2024, have now taken the next step in their relationship.

In an interview with British Vogue, Dua shared her excitement and revealed how the engagement ring was deeply personal. “Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting,” she said. She explained that Turner designed the ring with help from her sister Rina Lipa and close friends. “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well,” she added.

The couple’s story began at The River Café in London, where they were introduced by Ruth Rogers. However, they didn’t start dating immediately. A year later, they crossed paths again at a dinner in Los Angeles and bonded over a surprising coincidence—both were reading the same novel, Trust by Hernan Diaz.

While many fans are curious about wedding details, Dua mentioned that they’re not in a rush. “I want to finish my tour, Callum’s shooting, so we’re just enjoying this period,” she said. Interestingly, she admitted she never gave much thought to weddings before. “I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I’m like: ‘Oh, what would I wear?’”

The pop star also reflected on what the relationship means to her. She described their bond as something beyond romance—more like a lifelong friendship. “It’s a really special feeling,” she said. The couple envision growing old together, and Lipa also gently hinted at family plans for the future, while acknowledging the demands of her career.

For now, both Dua and Callum are focused on their individual projects, but the couple appears content embracing this new chapter quietly and meaningfully—away from the overwhelming spotlight.
