Siddharth Kumar Tewary reveals first show 'Mahabharat' took 4 years to go on air: 'Kabhi set jal jaata tha..'

Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary, the vision behind superhit shows like Mahabharat, Srimad Ramayana, Radha Krishna and more, is back with another 'historical saga,' with Sony SAB's Veer Hanuman, the grand launch of which recently happened in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Talking to us exclusively, the producer opens up on which amongst all the shows he has made till date is his favourite one and reveals how his first show 'Mahabharat' was delayed by four years.

Speaking about his favourite show, the producer, references Mahabharat to 'first love' and says, ''Dekhiye kya hota hai ke pehli baar jab aap koi show karte ho na, just like your first love, you can never forget it right? So, jo aapka first love hota hai, wo hamesha aap ke liye pyaara hota hai. Mahabharat jab maine pehli baar kiya, tab meri ek alag hi learning thi because maine kabhi is space mein kaam kiya nahi tha. Wo sabse pehli kahani thi meri, toh wo bahut difficult thi because uss samay kaise kaam hota hai ye aata hi nahi tha. Kaise talvaar banti hai, is genre mein likha kaise jaata hai, sets kaise bante hai, sochte kaise hai, koi bhi chiz pe control nahi tha but karte karte sikha, so Mahabharat will always remain my first love.''

Pooja Sharma, who essayed the character of Draupadi in Tewary's show 'Mahabharat' had once revealed about fire breaking out on the sets of the show during the filming of the 'cheer haran sequence.' We asked the producer that after doing shows like Mahabharat, Ramayana, Radha Krishna and more, has he too encountered any mystic incidents in his life. Revealing the same, the producer says, ''Hamesha. Jaise maine Mahabharat mein kaam karna shuru kiya tha 2009 mein aur wo show 2013 mein aaya tha. Jab aap chahoge ke kuch ho toh wo nahi hota hai, jab aap puri tarah se uske andar ghusoge, ekdum hi purity se, har level pe aapka test hoga. Mahabharat mein kabhi set jal jaate thhe, kuch toot jaata tha, kuch na kuch hota rehta tha. Abhi bhi, the process now I have accepted it. I believe he tests you. Aap chahoge ke nahi kal hojaye toh wo nahi hogi, inke apne raaste hote hai, apne aap hoti hai ye cheezein, iska rasta banta hai. I think it just requires you to surrender. Just keep doing your work and hopefully you will land right.''
