Siddhant Chaturvedi, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming action film Yudhra, recently shared an interesting anecdote about his audition experience. In a candid interview, Siddhant revealed that he initially believed he was auditioning for Don 3, the much-awaited third installment of the iconic Don franchise, during his first meeting for Yudhra. His assumption stemmed from the presence of filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, who helmed the previous Don films, in the audition room.

The buzz around Don 3 is palpable, especially with Ranveer Singh stepping into the shoes of the new Don. Siddhant, who had expressed his desire to be a part of an action-packed film after his breakthrough role in Gully Boy, believed that his opportunity had come when he met Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. “I really thought I was testing for Don 3,” Siddhant shared. However, much to his surprise, he soon found out that the project wasn’t Don but an entirely different film.

Siddhant’s journey from playing the street-smart MC Sher in Gully Boy to now leading an action film like Yudhra has been an inspiring one. After Gully Boy, he sought guidance from Ritesh Sidhwani, one of the film’s producers and his mentor since his Inside Edge days. During their discussion, Siddhant expressed his eagerness to take on an action role. Around the same time, Farhan Akhtar and writer Shridhar Raghavan were brainstorming a new action project, which Siddhant assumed to be Don 3. Despite the confusion, Siddhant was still keen to audition, and that’s when he met Yudhra director Ravi Udyawar.

Although Yudhra turned out to be a different film, it was still a dream come true for Siddhant. The film, packed with high-octane action sequences, was exactly what he had hoped for. With only a basic outline of the story during the early stages, Siddhant was excited about working with an incredible team of technicians and co-stars, including Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal.

As Yudhra gears up for its release on September 20, Siddhant looks forward to showcasing his action skills, proving that even though it wasn’t Don 3, this film is a major milestone in his career.
