Sid Makkar on why was he away from TV since 5 years

Actor Sid Makkar was earlier rather synonymous with his roles in several films but then became popular with his TV appearances as well. Especially his roles in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Kahaani Hamaray Mahabharat Kii were the ones that got him attention. But interestingly, he was missing from the TV screens since 2017 until recently he appeared on Dhadkan Zindaggi Kii on Sony TV.

In a recent interview with ETimes TV, he was asked as to why he took such a long break from TV and he said, "I wasn’t coming across roles which I wanted to do in television. Fortunately, I was busy working with OTT projects. But this show came by and I really liked the concept. I absolutely love the character. It feels like an extension of who I am.” 

Makkar has been a part of films, television and OTT and he says that it has been fun juggling all the mediums. “I started off my career with a film. Then I went on to do television and plays. I have done a variety of roles. I don’t want to restrict myself, that is why I keep choosing whatever comes my way."

He added, “I have always tried to do realistic roles and today’s content is also inclined towards the realistic content."
