Shruti Haasan: Because my parents' marriage didn’t work, doesn’t mean that I would write off the idea of it

Shruti Hasaan has been on a spree, from striking her OTT debut to landing exciting projects in the South. In a recent interview with Times Of India, the actress shared her thoughts on the concept of marriage and her relationship with boyfriend Santanu Hazarika. 

Talking about her hitting off with Santanu, the Lick  actress stated that Santanu and her shared several mutual acquaintances. Their friendship evolved as a result of their shared passion for art, music, and film. She also mentioned how people like him are uncommon as he is generous, gifted and a visual artist where his work inspires her greatly. She added that many people do not prioritise compassion and decent behaviour. She has had bad experiences dating actors in the past. It wasn't until she started dating outside of the film industry that she began to meet people who shared her interests.

She was also questioned about her notion for marriage and whether she feels nervous about it as she comes from a family that has witnessed a failed marriage. Responding to this Shruti remarked, her parents' marriage had the most wonderful intentions, in her opinion. It was a beautiful marriage when it worked, and that's what she choose to remember. Things could work out or not. She is always looking for the bright side of things. She further quoted, 

"My parents went through a lot, and they stuck it out. Just because their marriage didn’t work, it doesn’t mean that I would write off the idea of marriage. When it worked, they were a brilliant couple, and that’s what I chose to look at."

On the professional front, Shruti will next be seen in the Prashant Neel directorial Salaar and will share the screen space with Prabhas in the film.
