Shraddha Kapoor Discusses Potential Expansion of the Aashiqui Franchise

Shraddha Kapoor gained widespread recognition through her compelling performance in Aashiqui 2, a film that significantly boosted her career.

In a recent interaction Shraddha opened up about her journey so far. She also talked about the love she received for Aashiqui 2 and of course, Stree franchise.

When asked about the about Aashiqui 3 Shraddha quipped ,"Not that I know of. But because, I mean, I'm sure if the makers thought of a sequel, they would think of something very, very interesting. And, of course, Aashiqui gave me so much love, so much appreciation. The story, that's the film where everything changed for me."

"I'm sure that if they do come up with something, it would be really, really awesome. And you know, if I feel like if it is something challenging for me as an actor, something different for me to do, I would be open to it," she added.

Released on April 26, 2013, Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri, made a lasting impact on Bollywood with its emotional narrative and unforgettable music. The film featured Aditya Roy Kapur alongside Shraddha.

Currently, Shraddha is celebrating the success of Stree 2, which stars RajKummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee. Released on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day, the film has grossed over ?700 crore in India, despite competing with other major releases like Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa.

She also shared a heartfelt moment following the film's success, revealing that Tabu called to congratulate her. “Tabu ma'am had the most wonderful things to say on the phone. She even sent me a personalized perfume with Stree written on it. It made me feel empowered and proud of myself,” Shraddha said.
